No More Product Fatigue – These Products Are Worth the Hype

Do you ever get product fatigue?

It seems like every other week, there’s always a new product to be talked about and everything is someone’s ‘favorite’! Between Instagram, blogs, magazines, even commercials… it can get pretty overwhelming! So, which of those products are actually worth the hype? That’s what we wanted to find out! We got our hands on the latest skincare and makeup launches to see if they live up to the excitement.

Here are the products that we’ve decided ARE worth the hype:

MAKEUP

PAT MCGRATH LABS Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation

We love pretty much anything that Pat puts out. That glitter lipstick is still up there with one of our favorite beauty trends! So when Pat McGrath Labs released foundation we knew it was going to be a big deal. First of all, the packaging is crazy chic, but the formula is even better. The coverage is light to medium and builds up really beautifully. The foundation itself is pretty thin, so it absorbs into your skin really easily. It’s one of those foundations that doesn’t feel like you’ve got a thing on your skin!

Glossier Brow Flick

As far as brow products go, this detailing pen is amazing! It gives you hair-like strokes exactly where you want them, and can build a really natural-looking brow. If you have thicker brows, the Brow Flick can help shape and fill in where you need it, and if you have sparse, thin brows – this is great and easy way to build a gorgeous, thick brow and is pretty much sweatproof.

Kosas Eyeshadow 10 Second Eyeshadow

Liquid eyeshadows are our favorite way to get a gorgeous wash of color with little to no effort… until we met the 10 Second Eyeshadow that is! When they say 10 seconds they mean it! It’s water-based, non-toxic, dries in seconds and actually has more pigment than you’d expect! All you have to do is shake up the bottle to make sure all the pigment is evenly dispersed (you can hear a little metal ball clinking!) and put a swipe or two onto your lid and blend with your finger! PS: since it is liquid-based make sure to keep the bottle upright to avoid spilling!

Arch Brow Micro-Sculpting Pencil

Coming in 9 different shades, this Arch Brow Micro-Sculpting Pencil from Hourglass is for everyone! The classic Brow Pencil from Hourglass already a team favorite, but once Chriselle introduced us to the Micro pencil we couldn’t wait to test it out. It basically has everything we know and love from the Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil but on a micro and more precise level!

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lusture

As far as lips go, we do love a good Charlotte Tilbury gloss! This Lip Lusture gloss is the perfect sheer wash of glossy color without being too sticky. It can be built up to be more pigmented but it looks amazing over a lipstick, or on its own!

Hourglass Scattered Light Eyeshadow

We got our hands on another one of Chriselle’s favorites, the scattered light shadow from Hourglass! You might remember her using it on her Instagram or in this post here and these luxe glitter shadows are worth the hype. If you don’t think you like glitter on your eyes, you haven’t tried this shadow! It goes on super smooth (we like applying it using our fingers as opposed to a brush) and there’s zero fall out and no mess.

Essie Gel Couture

Getting a gel manicure is a treat, but going to the nail salon is kind of a pain. Enter Gel Couture from Essie! We were skeptical at first, but were so impressed at how well the polish went on and STAYED on! It’s everything you love from a gel manicure but you can do it at home.

SKINCARE

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

This mask is worth all of the hype. It feels amazing and dewy on, and leaves your skin feeling bright and brand new! It’s kind of like a mask and moisturizer all rolled into one. If you have dehydrated skin or are traveling soon, this is for you! Since the mask is kind of thick, one tip we picked up on is to warm it up in your hands and smooth a very thin amount over your face, then let it sink in for about 20 to 30 minutes before going to sleep so you don’t transfer any of the mask onto your pillowcase!

Lord Jones Heavy Duty Chill Balm

Lord Jones is an office favorite thanks to our CBD Fairy, Jane! This Chill Balm is a newer product but it’s already living up to the other Lord Jones products we know and love! It’s made with organic jojoba oil, organic shea butter and, organic extra virgin olive oil and you can use it all over! This stuff is a lifesaver when you’ve got cramps during that time of the month or when you’re feeling tense from say, traffic. Just warm it up in your hands and rub it wherever you need some pain relief.

HanaCure Mask

Okay, you’ve probably seen this mask everywhere… the one that dries on your face and leaves it looking ever so slightly alien-like… but once you wash it off your skin looks AMAZING! Your skin feels tight and firm after just one treatment. This IS on the pricier side, but we can confirm the hype is real and worth it.

The Ordinary Serum

If you haven’t heard of The Ordinary, it’s a (very) affordable skincare brand that breaks down ingredients into exactly what you need. From toners to retinols, and even pressed virgin marula oil- the Ordinary gives you a no-nonsense product with exactly the ingredient you’re looking for. This serum is Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, and it’s only $5.90! If you have acne-prone skin, this is for you!

Versed Brightening Eye

We’re already big fans of Versed, and this eye cream is definitely up there with our faves from the brand! Under-eye circles? Bye. Puffy eyes? Bye. Made with Vitamin C, ginseng root extract, niacinamide, and coffee seed extract – this eye gel helps get the circulation going to drain excess fluids and brightens to get rid of those dark circles!
