Bedside Manner – Editor Approved Bedside Essentials

What bedside table essentials do you keep on your nightstand?

Maybe the book you’re reading? Some serums? What about a hand lotion? We all have our own rituals and habits before bed, which are totally personal. It was a topic of conversation the other day in the office, so we (Jane & Hannah) decided to share out bedside table essentials! To us, it’s an integral part of your nighttime routine. It’s the very last, and most important, steps you take to make sure you get the perfect night’s sleep.

Keep scrolling to see what we keep on our nightstands.

JANE’S BEDSIDE TABLE

Lord Jones Body Oil

I tend to hold all of my stress in my back so I love putting this body oil all over my back, wrists and my temples to help calm and relax any tension I may have stuck in my body. Sometimes, I’ll mix it in with the lotion as well depending on how stressed my day was. I’ve gotten everyone and their mama’s hooked on Lord Jones and they all rave to me about how much it’s helped them.

Glossier You Perfume

I’m on my 3rd bottle of this perfume and unless you’ve tried it, I don’t know how to explain it to you other than the scent is intoxicating and addicting. This is the only perfume where I constantly get asked what scent I’m wearing.

Caudalie Face Mist

Face misting is a must for every man and woman alive. JK, I’m being dramatic but I’ve found that men and women all love a good face spritz. I got hooked onto this one once I saw Chriselle misting away and have been addicted ever since. It feels super refreshing and I love misting in the am and pm before I put my skin cocktails on and all throughout the day if my skin feels dry. This one is vegan and feels minty which is really nice and soothing.

Dr. Barbara Sturm Brightening Serum

If you love being in the water and sun as much as I do, no matter how much SPF you put on, you’re going to have some discoloration on your face once summer’s over. This brightening serum feels so light and has purslane in it which is a strong antioxidant that stimulates the body and supports skin health and rejuvenation. It helps with fine lines, dark spots and evening out your skin’s texture.

Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous Candle

I love lighting a candle once I’m home because it instantly puts my mood at ease. This one by Tom Ford also makes sure I know how fabulous I am every time I light it and I love the hints of leather accord you can smell from it.

Beboe High Potency CBD Serum

This CBD oil is 100% natural and smells so lovely. You all know I’m a huge fan of scents so something that smells good is really important for me. Not only does it help with inflammation, but it also minimizes my blemishes and fine lines, repairs elasticity, encourages collagen production, and fight free radicals. You can use this all over your body and hands for nourishment. I do advise using it sparingly though, it’s not cheap! I swear CBD oils help me sleep better, too.

Honest Magic Balm

No matter what, I ALWAYS make sure I put a lip balm on at night so my lips aren’t dry, cracked and crusty. I love this all-natural one from Honest because it feels lightweight, my hair doesn’t stick to it and it can be used on my flyaways, cuticles, elbows, etc.

Parachute Home Cozy Robe

I always put on a robe after I shower to stay cozy while I dry off. I love having something super comfortable like this Robe from Parachute. It’s lightweight, has pockets, a collar so your hair isn’t dripping wet, is unisex, doesn’t look like your basic fluffy robe and also looks chic in your bathroom while hanging.

HANNAH‘S BEDSIDE TABLE

A Book

I’m currently re-reading the Harry Potter series, as you can probably tell from my well-loved copy of Goblet of Fire. I used to re-read the series every summer break when I was in high school! Recently, I picked them back up again and started making my way through the books. I try to read at least a chapter every night before bed. It’s a much better habit than accidentally scrolling through Instagram for an hour.

Cuticle Cream

I think this is my 5th or 6th tin of the Burts Bee’s Cuticle Cream in the last maybe 8 years. This stuff is THAT good. My cuticles can get so dry, so just a little bit of this every night makes the world of difference.

Hand Cream

In conjunction with the cuticle cream, my hands get even more love with some hand cream. On my bedside right now is the Handy Cream from Go-To, but I also love Bastide Rose Olivier cream! I swear, I can’t sleep if I don’t have hand cream on, it’s weird.

Lip Balm

Another product that I’ve bought and rebought is the Coconut Glossier Balm Dotcom. I also have one in my purse, one in my bathroom, and one at my desk. I’d like to think of myself as a ‘lip balm connoisseur’ and I love trying new balms, but I always come back to the coconut balm dotcom. It smells like vacation and feels like a dream.

Jade Roller

I won’t lie to y’all, this jade roller *might* just be for decoration. I do use it, but not as much as I should. I’m trying to get in the habit of using it when I lay in bed scrolling through Instagram or Tumblr. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Sleeping Mask

Wearing an eye mask to bed has, not to be dramatic or anything- changed. my. life. Seriously, I fall asleep faster AND sleep better once I started using one. I mostly wanted one of the Slip Silk eye masks because they’re chic and pretty and now I can’t fall asleep without one.

Candle

I used to stock up on Bath and Body Works candles like my life depended on it. While I still love a good 3-wick candle, I’ve been investing in more ‘designer candles’ recently. On my nightstand now is the Byredo Bibliothque that Jane got me for my birthday (thank you Jane ILY) but I also love the Maison Marie Louis No. 4. They both smell so lovely and make me feel like such a grown-up. Next on my wishlist: Byredo Loose Lips.
