5 Ways to Use a Silk Scarf

Hey guys! It’s Hannah back on the blog again!

Do you guys remember Gossip Girl? Yes, of course you do. Well once upon a time, I went to a private Catholic high school and I had to wear a uniform. Of course, I wasn’t nearly as chic as Blair or Serena but my closet was filled with blazers, oxfords, headbands and silk scarves. I was as preppy as preppy could be.

After graduating high school and moving to LA, my style has changed significantly but I just can’t quit silk scarves. They’re versatile, super chic, and can find their way into any style. To show you guys just how versatile they are, here are my 5 favorite ways to rock a silk scarf!

1// Head Scarf

This is my dirty hair secret weapon. If you remember from this post here, I try not to wash my hair too often. So when it’s getting a little greasy- I throw my hair up in a scarf! It keeps my hair out of my face and looks so chic.

2// Tied on Bag

So this pink silk scarf basically lives on my bag. I love the classic touch it gives and a little pop of color, too! To be honest, this is really the only pop of color I can stand lol! And as the seasons change, or if I get a new bag that I’m into, the scarf works perfectly for any season.

3// Bow Scarf

In full Gossip Girl spirit, I wear this silk scarf as a neck scarf like I did in this picture here! I’ll either do a simple tie or tie it up in a bow! I love how it looks with a blazer like I’m wearing here. How many days until sweater weather??

4// Top

Anytime I do this, I feel like I should be on vacation somewhere in Italy. There are tons of different ways to wear a square silk scarf as a top but I’ve found this to be the easiest. It also reminds me of those 90’s bandana tops! Though fair warning, if you know you’re going to be sitting a lot, this isn’t the most comfortable option- that knot can really dig into your back!

5// Belt

Last but not least, I sometimes use my silk scarf as a belt! I tied it through my mom-jeans (like these here) and I love it! Depending on how fast I need to get ready- I’ll either fold it up to give it a more streamlined look or weave it through my belt loops as is for a more draped look.

Can you guys think of more fun ways to use your silk scarf? Let me know in the comments below and have a great day!
