Remember the days of butterfly clips, barrettes, and scrunchies? Well, they’re all grown up! Hair accessories are definitely having a moment again and I’m totally here for it. Hannah (who I stole from her laptop to model for this shoot) is wearing a velvet green scrunchie (like this one) which looks super adorable on her. I’ve been really into hair scarves and I’ve just recently rediscovered my love for headbands!
Sunglasses are probably the most important warm weather accessory, at least in my opinion. With SO many different styles, colors, shapes- they can transform any look and work with any style. The skinny cat eye sunglasses that Hannah has on above (that she got off of Amazon for under $10!) are the perfect way to hit a trend while staying classic.
Nothing says ‘I’m on vacation’ quite like a straw bag. With major Jane Birkin vibes, it’s a great way to pretend you’re on vacation while still looking effortless. There are structured basket bags like the one Hannah is carrying (similar here) or softer ones like this! If you’re not into the basket bag for your everyday purse- tote bags like this one are the ultimate pool/beach bag. Tie a scarf around it and you’re off to the French Rivera!
Slides have had their moment for sure, but there’s something about lace-up sandals that keeps me coming back. The ones that Hannah is wearing above are actually a pair she bought from Madewell (check them out here) a few years ago that she’s been wearing every spring and summer since! They’re under $100 bucks and to say she’s gotten her cost-per-wear out of them is an understatement.
A good lip color is essential to have in your arsenal of accessories. It's an inexpensive way to totally transform your look. Once you find that perfect shade- it's like you can take over the world! This season I want pink everywhere. This bright hot Barbie pink that Hannah is wearing (it's Playgirl by Tom Ford!) is not for the faint of heart but boy does it look good! To stay in the pink family, a stain like this one is a very good alternative.
Allen and I were talking to Chloe about what she wants to ask Santa for Christmas and it occurred to me how much my "Christmas Wish-List" would have changed since the last time I sent a letter to the North Pole.
