Beach Baby Essentials

I don’t know if it’s because Chloe is a water sign baby or if it’s because her dad just loves the ocean, but we can’t keep Chloe away from water! When we were in Tulum, we spent all day at the beach for hours at a time and Chloe loved it. Today I’m going to share with you guys a list of baby beach essentials so your baby not only has fun in the sun but will also be safe and prepared for a perfect beach day!

Rash Guard

While I packed a swimsuit for Chloe, I also packed a long sleeved rash guard for extra protection from the sun. For babies who are more sensitive to the sun, I recommend a swimsuit like this one because it’s not only totally adorable but it will protect your baby from too much sun exposure.

Sprays & Cremes

I love this sunscreen from Babyganics. It’s an organic sunscreen with SPF 50. I like that it’s a spray because I was continuously applying and reapplying sunscreen to Chloe throughout the day. Believe it or not, bug spray was also important. Allen and I got a lot of bites and we wanted to protect Chloe from the mosquitos and other bugs. I love this brand because the formula isn’t harsh for a baby and is pretty natural. Another SPF that I’m obsessed with that is not pictured here is from THINK BABY. It’s always sold out whenever I’m trying to stock up, but its definitely a must for babies. I’ve tried many sunscreens and this one is great because it doesn’t feel thick, it absorbs easily, it’s water resistant, and it’s probably one of the best all-natural chemical free sunscreens out there. I keep all of my sprays in a plastic zip up bag to prevent any spilling. I also brought diaper rash cream, hand sanitizer spray, and some other baby creams just in case.

First Aid Kit

I got this cute little first aid kit from Target in collaboration with Oh Joy and it was one of my favorite and most practical purchases. I like to keep everything from Neosporin to a thermometer to cute little band-aids. Luckily I’ve had no incidents where I had to use my first aid kit, but it gives me piece of mind knowing that I have everything I need just in case an accident occurs. I highly recommend keeping one on hand when traveling just in case!

Snacks

There’s something about being in the sun and water that makes a baby hungry. Having snacks on hand = happy baby = happy parents! I always bring Chloe’s favorite snack with me which is the Happy Baby Yogis … she is OBSESSED with these, and they always puts her in a good mood. They are freeze-dried yogurt drops that melt in your mouth. I usually stuff her favorite snacks in the Munchkin Snack Catcher because 1. it’s a great way to keep snack time mess free and 2. it keeps Chloe super busy & entertained for hours! (It’s also a great thing to travel with on a long plane or car ride.)

Another beach essential for babies that I almost forgot to mention is swim diapers! This is important because if you use a regular diaper, it will become heavy and saggy after hitting the water. I usually use the Pampers Splashers Swim Diaper. If you want even more sun protection, a pair of baby sunglasses and a beach hat would work But to be honest, I never end up using them because Chloe immediately takes them off. I just make sure to reapply her sunscreen every hour.

There you have it! My baby beach essentials. Do you have any? Let a mama know!
