5 Sunglasses for Different Face Shapes

I’ll be flying back from Greece this weekend! (How many more hours until I get to see Chloe??) Greece was amazing and beautiful .. and hot! Lucky for me, I always carry a pair of sunglasses in my bag. Sunnies is such a convenient accessory. Especially when I’m going makeup free like when I was flying! But convenience aside, sunnies are so crucial in protecting yourself from the sun. My sunscreen and sunnies game definitely had to be on point this trip. (I was prepared with a big oversized hat too.. the ultimate protection!) The skin around the eyes is thin and very delicate, so the best preventative way is to always have sunnies with 100% UVA protection! (As if I don’t struggle enough with my eyes already!) But not all sunnies were made equally, and today I’m sharing with you all the 5 different sunglasses for different face shapes!

1. STRUCTURAL STATeMENT SUNNIES

The perfect touch of whimsy and cool.

I tend to stay away from more angular shaped statement sunnies since my face is angular and it makes my face look too strong! But these have a sort of cat eye shape that I absolutely adore. I even have them in pink! As you can see in my post yesterday, these glasses can add a funky and cool look to an otherwise normal and feminine outfit. Accessories are a great way to play up the fun whimsical element, so I definitely recommend investing in a pair of statement sunnies to step up your selfie game this summer!

2. RETRO ROUND

A shape that I’ve been trying out lately is a smaller round frame! Small frames can sometimes come off a little costumey (like John Lennon) but I’ve found that with a cool finish like this matte one, it can look totally modern! Plus, these are slightly larger than the traditional lens so I only need to be moderately adventurous. Round shapes are also great for a more angular face like mine as it softens and balances a strong jawline!

3. Clubmaster

Perfect sunnies for my more angular faced ladies! (And me.)

One of my go-to sunnies is my Ray-Ban Clubmasters. The shades give off an old school cool girl vibe that I totally love. This style really goes with any off duty look that is perfect for the weekends. Not to mention the detail framing makes these sunnies very unique! I like this shape because it’s kind of like the wayfarer type of sunnies except cooler. I try to stay away from angular sunnies as it makes my face look too strong, but I like that clubmasters are rounded lenses.. so it balances out!

4. CAT EYE
Whenever I sport a cat eye I always feel a bit more confident and sassy. Not to mention cat eye sunnies are incredibly sexy. These Quay sunnies have a metal detail that I really love! I like pairing them with a more feminine and preppy outfit to tie everything together, show off your inner diva with a fun pair of cat eyes. Or at least channel your inner Audrey with a pair of sexy cat eye sunglasses! PS. Everyone looks great in a cat eye .. just be sure to rock it with confidence!

5. Aviators

It doesn’t get more classic than this.

5. Aviators

Not only are aviators the most classic pair of sunnies ever, they also look great on oval and square faces! I prefer aviators for a more casual occasion like when I go to the beach with Allen. Aviators can add a very cool element to an outfit as it kind of harkens back to the 90s. A girl can’t go wrong with a pair of aviators!
