I can officially now say that there is no “weekend” or “off time” as a mommy. Not that i’m complaining, but I used to rely on the weekends to gain my strength and energy back. It’s amazing how much joy and energy I have every time I see her little face even if I haven’t really slept for 3 straight days. Now that Chloe is a little over 1 month old, I’ve been taking her out a bit more with me- doctor visits, the office , dinner with family & friends, etc. To be honest I’ve never been the most punctual person, but surprisingly with a baby I’ve become a whole lot more efficient with time. I think it’s the fact that I’ve gotten so paranoid with the amount of time I need before I leave the house. Pre baby I only needed 30 mins, but now I need to give myself at least 2-3 hours. 40 minutes for breastfeeding, 30 mins to get baby ready, 30 mins for me to get ready, 30 mins to prep and eat breakfast, and another 30 minutes to make sure I have everything packed for Chloe (there’s no such thing as traveling light with a baby!). Speaking of traveling with a baby, I’ve done my research for a chic diaper bag, and I have yet to find one (let me know if you know of any). I’ve luckily found a few purses that have an ample amount of room that can also double up as a diaper bag, including this large Mackage satchel that I’m wearing. Absolutely adore the foldover sides, rich leather, silver hardware , and of course the optional shoulder strap. This purse fits so much that i could fit all of Chloe’s stuff and even stuff my laptop in it! Although I did a What’s In My Bag post HERE recently, would you guys like to see a post on “What’s In My Diaper Bag”? It may not be as glamorous (think diapers, burping bibs, and baby wipes), but I thought it may be practical for some of you new mommies out there.

Trends I'm Loving Right Now
While I'm always hopping from trend to trend there are three in particular that has totally captured my heart (and closet) this season.
I love how personal style extends beyond the clothes on our back. Having a stylish diaper bag is important! Although I think only “fashionistas” crave for a cute diaper bag lol. You should consider collaborating with a brand and create one!

Im due in April and looked high and low for a proper diaper bag. Want to know my secret?
Scope out the men’s department at Barneys. I ended up w a black balenciaga that I love love love. I added a diaper bag insert (life in play) and boom. I’ll be using this bag as a carryon travel piece when baby grows up. Oh, and it’s manly enough for my husband to carry. It has short handles and one long cross body/shoulder strap. Don’t get the balenciaga squash duffle. It’s too masculine in my opinion. You could also check out the Balenciaga 24 hr voyage as well. The dimensions are a little deep but it’s a gorgeous bag. And we all know that bal bags have leather that is so low maintenance and gets better with use and age.
The other bag I was highly considering was the coated canvas saint laurent luggage tote that buttons down on both side. It has a shape that easily converts to a classic tote, (without the ubiquitous LV monogram) and can convert to a givenchy antigona-esque lady like bag when buttoned up. It also has a slender shoulder strap too.

Henri bendel had a cute diaper bag that looked more like a purse. They seem to have run out of the solid colors but they come and go.
It’s crazy! How can you get back in shape so fast and look alot more gorgeous after only having a baby for less than well, 2 month!!!!? You are seriously a role model, Chriselle!

hi chriselle, being a mum of 2 young girls, I personally feel that there is no need for a diaper bag. (Have never used one either!) Any fashionable big enough bag that you find stylish is good to go =) you can use bag separators if you Wana keep it more organized

I had the same thoughts around getting a chic diaper bag that did not look like one and I could pair with everything while still being functional for all baby needs with plenty of pcokets. I wanted something streamlined with no print–preferably all black. I settled on the bugaboo x storksak collaboration bag in black leather and love it! It’s surprisingly but necessarily light in weight and has plenty of room for hauling baby stuff. I also just came across the leader bag co. backpack and have my eye on that as well for the future.

My mom always used a Juicy purse as her ‘diaper bag’ – she couldn’t STAND actual ones ahahaha – So I support the large bag idea, but jeez, you would think designers who do maternity wear would do a chic diaper bag as well.
Either way, I would LOVE a ‘what’s in my purse: diaper addition’ lol Also, what is your weekly schedule like and how have you had to alter it for Chloe? Did you have set days/hours in your office, or is it based more on each individual project?

I looked everywhere for chic / functional diaper bag. Have to say it was difficult but when you realize you have to carry everything and the kitchen sink you realize leather is out of the question..not to mention difficulty cleaning the bag if anything spills. Anyway check out the Burberry Channel quilted diaper bag. It’s the one I’m using and LOVE! The other option would’ve been the Prada diaper bag!
