Clean Beauty

Since being pregnant, I’ve thought a lot more about toxins and chemicals because I’ve been hyperconscious of what I’m putting in and on my body.

Maybe it’s the fact that the pink sunset skies in LA are pretty but actually a buildup of pollution… maybe it’s the extremely noticeable extra layer of smog in LA these days… maybe it’s the fact that the internet makes everything more and more accessible… but I’ve been thinking so much more about all the pollution that comes with working in a big city and also the number of toxins that are outside our control and also what’s within our control: i.e what we’re consciously putting into and on our bodies.

So many of you were really interested in my non-toxic pregnancy picks, so I wanted to expand into that category a little more and feature some clean beauty brands that I’ve been interested in these days (whether you’re preggers or not).

Ilia Cooling Stick
Great before or after work, this cooling stick is a great refreshing solid that can be used in lieu of your toner or face mist. Great to use after you work out, smells great and feels really light.

Juice Beauty Pregnancy Peel
A great natural peel for those of you that are pregnant (unless you have rosacea or really sensitive skin). Since it doesn’t have any vitamin A, it’s great for those that are pregnant or nursing. It’s super hydrating and great for minimizing pores.

Lilah B Lip Balm
Chapped lips no more! You all know how much I’ve dealt with crusty and dry lips in the past
! This balm is great for the vanity and I like using it on my lips before I sleep. It’s non-sticky and I wake up with really moisturized lips.

African Botanic Balm
This balm smells so, so good and melts into a silky serum. Great for wrinkles, loss of firmness, redness and hyper-pigmentation and scars and dry skin.

RMS Lip in Honest
I love these RMS lip colors because they’re really nourishing and look really natural. You can use a little for a natural stained look or layer it on for more of a natural lipstick kind of look.

Tata Harper Lip + Cheek
A multipurpose lip or cheek balm, I love a product that can be used in more ways than one. Buildable as well, these little pots of gold look great on every skin tone, feel super hydrating and happen to taste great.

Anese Booty Oil
Vegan, paraben free, phthalate free. This oil does have a fragrance but made with plant-based oils. It has 7 ingredients total which is pretty rare to find. It’s an oil blend that contains MCT oil in it which is an ultra-refined form of coconut oil.

YTTP Super Food Mask
100% Vegan, made in California, free of parabens, sulfates, mineral oil and animal testing, this is a great smelling restorative mask that’s packed with nutrients and antioxidants to restore tired skin. For drier areas, pack the mask on a little thicker.

Skinesque Cleanser
This enzyme powder turns into a gentle exfoliating cleanser when you add water. Great for taking off makeup and not drying your face out. It’s also a powder so it’s super travel friendly!

Herbivore Lapis Oil
Natural, vegan and cruelty-free, I was so intrigued by the color of this oil – blue tansy. This oil has something called azulene in it which is great of soothing dry, irritated, and blemish-prone skin types to help balance hydration.

Juice Beauty Serum
Packed with antioxidants, this serum is great for the day. It has hyaluronic acid that’s great to fight against aging and your skin’s healing process and peptides to help with cellular renewal.

Kjaer Weiss

Can we talk about how chic the packaging is? Produced in Italy, this lip tint is certified organic, nourishes and moisturizes, is full of antioxidants and has rosa rubiginosa seed oil that’s good to fight signs of aging.
