My Summer Pregnancy Outfit Secrets

Dressing the bump for summer weather isn’t exactly a walk in the park.

As the temperature starts heating up, the thought of wearing clothes that are comfy, cute and chic while pregnant is not easy. My main goals when getting dressed this summer are: Do I feel good? Do I feel comfortable? Will I stay cool in this outfit all day? Enter- my pregnancy outfit secrets: bathing suits and monochrome looks.

So dressing in full monochrome is nothing new for me, but it really is my secret weapon while I’m pregnant. First, it makes putting an outfit together super easy because it always matches! Secondly, it’s still always a strong look when you’re wearing a monochromatic outfit.

To avoid looking washed out, try playing around with different textures and accessories. It’s the perfect way to pull off a monochrome look. Another reason I love monochrome when I’m dressing the bump is that it visually slims me down.

My second summer pregnancy outfit secret: bathing suits are not just for the pool!

Yep, you read that right! This blue top I’m wearing is actually a bathing suit. One thing I’ve noticed about a lot of the one-piece bathing suits I have is that they’re super stretchy. This one is made of mostly polyester, and guess what- it fits Hannah just as well as it fits my pregnant belly! So that means I can wear it after I give birth, too.

A look like this is perfect for those summer days that I’m already in my bathing suit but need to go to a dinner or event afterward. All I have to do is throw on a pair of trousers (the ones I’m wearing here are probably the chicest maternity trousers ever!) and layer a breezy button down on top and I’m good to go!

I dressed this look up a bit with some chic sunnies, a pair of Jimmy Choo sandals (similar here!) and a fun straw bag.

Do any of my mamas out there have any tips for dressing the bump during the hot summer months? Leave a comment down below!
