The Most Versatile Outfit Ever

Hey guys, it’s Hannah again! I’m so excited to be back on the blog (if you missed my last few posts, make sure to check them out here and here!) to talk to you guys about the most versatile outfit ever. You probably already have it in your closet, too! It’s a pairing as old as time: a white tee and black jeans! Just by itself, it might seem a little basic but it’s actually the best blank canvas you can get.

Keep scrolling to see how I transformed a plain white tee and a pair of black skinny jeans into 5 outfits you’ll be reaching for all year.

Tee: Hanes | Jeans: Banana Republic (Similar Here) | Blazer: Zara (Similar Here) | Heels: Stella Luna (Similar Here)

Date Night

You might remember this blazer from one of my older posts (check it out here) where I talked about the pieces you need for fall- but plot twist! I still haven’t stopped wearing this oversized blazer. At this point, I think the oversized blazer has jumped from trendy to closet staple. For date night, I like to be as effortless as possible. This blazer is super easy and cozy, and it looks great when paired with a pair of heels, too! The perfect balance of dressy and casual.

Tee: Hanes | Jeans: Banana Republic (Similar Here) | Coat: AYR (Similar Here) | Boots: Dolce Vita

Dinner

Is it just me, or before you go out with your friends do you text the group chat asking ‘Are we looking cute tonight?’ If the answer is yes, this is a look I’d put on. My easy t-shirt and black jeans with a chic camel coat (check out a similar one here) and some killer black boots like these!

Tee: Hanes | Jeans: Banana Republic (Similar Here) | Jacket: H&M (Similar Here) | Sneakers: Gucci

Errands

All black is always a good idea. For an easy day running around DTLA, I’d throw on a leather jacket (similar here) over my tee and jeans with a pair of chic yet super comfortable sneakers like these! A leather jacket is one of those pieces you’ll wear forever and ever and can never seem to have enough of. Want to hear a funny story about this jacket? I actually got it in the kid’s section at H&M when I first moved out to LA! (But I like one too!) I get compliments on it every time I wear it.

Tee: Hanes | Jeans: Banana Republic (Similar Here) | Blue Jean Jacket: Target (Similar Here) | Flats: H&M (Similar Here)

Brunch

My friends and I take our brunch game very seriously and nothing says LA more than brunch, avocado toast, and a blue jean jacket-am I right? I put the blue jean jacket right up there with the leather jacket when it comes to closet must-haves. The one I’m wearing above (similar here) is the one my mom got on sale at Target, which I then stole a few months later. Sorry, mom. (Not sorry!)

Tee: Hanes | Jeans: Banana Republic (Similar Here) | Blazer: Elizabeth & James (Similar Here) | Slides: Zara (Similar Here)

Meetings

Okay, so this combination is pretty laid back when it comes to business attire, I know. However, the black jeans are much dressier than their blue counterparts and there’s nothing like throwing on a sharp blazer to show that you mean business! I threw on a pair of pointed black slides but a pair of heels (like these) would also totally work!

Whatever it is you’re going to, and wherever it is you’re going- you’d be surprised how well a tee and jeans with the right accessories will work for you! Anytime I travel, I always make sure to throw on this combination. Pro Tip: while expensive white t-shirts are great- nothing compares to the pack of 6 men’s Hanes t-shirts I picked up! Seriously, they’re the best ‘investment’ I’ve ever made!

So which look was your favorite? Let me know in the comments below and let me know what kind of content you want to see from my posts this year! In the meantime, be sure to follow me on Instagram.

yeah I wear this outfit (an iteration of it every day).
have around 35 pairs of black non-destroyed non-raw hem black skinnys. (yes, this doesn’t account for distressed black skinnies, or raw hem black skinnies…I’d probably be at around 60 then).
I have no shame about the amount of jeans in my closet bc I am a connoisseur od denim…..truly.
if I could frame them all and put them all over my home I might.
anway, this is all to say – all you REALLY need is black skinnies or dark skinnies, and a GOOD white T. (I like LAMADE).
Forget all these bloggers who get paid to make you buy clothes.

Ha, I always have these two items in my closet so they’re definitely the most worn items! I love those black boots. 🙂 How would you style the black jeans and white tee for us in the North East, where we’re experience winter (not being sassy, the weather can get to below zero so none of those coats would be warm enough)?
