5 Ways to Prepare for Fall

This Friday is the officially the 1st day of Fall! Can you believe how fast this year has gone by already? As a new season approaches, it’s always a great time to make a fresh start. Out with the old and in with the new, right? Keep scrolling to read 5 ways I’m preparing for all things fall!

1. Find Statement Pieces

While finding some awesome pieces for your closet is important for a new season, don’t forget how big of an impact your accessories can have! Jewelry is a great way to add another element to an otherwise simple look. This season, I’m really loving bold metal statement pieces. I was rocking hoops all summer, and now I’m loving cool architectural and abstract pieces! Be sure to check out the widget above to shop some of my favorites!

2. Clean Out Your Makeup Bag

This is an important one. If you’re like me, your makeup bag could probably use a good ol’ clean-out. Just like I talked about here, the fall season is the perfect excuse to break out some more of those warm colors! Plus, if it’s been awhile since you last cleaned your brushes, definitely make to make some time to do it this week (your face will thank you SO much)! This season, start playing around with some colored liner, grab some deep reds for your lips and warm up your cheeks with a dark rose blush like this one!

3. Break Out the Boots

Nothing screams “fall” like a killer pair of boots, right? I’ve been rocking these thigh high boots (similar here) non-stop the last few weeks and I’m totally in love. The sock boot, like this pair here, are super in this season- but you can’t go wrong with a classic Chelsea boot like this pair here! Check out the widget above for my favorite fall boot picks!

4. Clean Out Your Closet

Before the new season starts, I challenge you to clean out your closet! I know, I know- it’s easier said than done. But if you’ve reached that point in your life (we’re all guilty of it) where you only wear about 25% of your closet- it’s time. Get rid of pieces that you never wear anymore, or at the very least, stow away your summer staples (sundresses, cut-offs, sandals) to make your fall stuff visible! If you do start to get rid of things, sell them on apps like Depop or Poshmark or better yet- DONATE them to victims of Hurricane Harvey or another charity!

5. Pick Up Fall Pieces You’ll Love

After you’ve made room in your closet- reward yourself with a little shopping! Getting classic pieces you’ll love season after season is a must, but don’t let that stop you from dipping your toes in the trends! So grab that oversized blazerbut make sure you save room for the print of the season, and maybe a little velvet, too! Check out some of my fall picks above!

Is there anything you always do to prepare for fall? Let me know in the comments below and have a great day!
