My Nudes

Okay okay, these aren’t THOSE kinds of nudes. I feel like I’ve never really been able to pull off nude colors in my makeup routine until now. Anytime I looked at myself in the mirror, I just felt totally washed out! However, you might have noticed that I’ve gotten a bit of a tan these days (thank you Ibiza!) and I’ve since decided to dip my toes back into the world of nudes. Between eyes, lips, cheeks and even nails, there’s a magical world of neutral colors out there just begging to be experimented with!

A nude/neutral eye has always been my go-to. I love that it can be as subtle or as dramatic as I’d like it to be. Not to mention with a great palette like this one, I can build and layer as I’d like, as well as instantly take my look from day to night with a swipe of a darker brown blended into my crease. But as much as I love a neutral eye, a nude lip has always been a struggle for me. Mostly because finding the perfect shade has been a struggle and a half! Isn’t it funny that in order to pull off the ‘effortless-no-makeup-look’ you actually need lots of effort and a good amount of makeup?

Finding a lipstick that compliments my skin tone and looks as natural as possible took a while, but now that I have it, I’m over the moon! I’ve figured out that a beige color with a hint of pink, like this shade here, looks the best on me. I did a lot of testing and experimenting before I found the perfect nude lipstick. Word on the street is that to find your ‘perfect nude’ you have to match the color to your nipple color! (I also heard that you’re supposed to match it to your other “lips.” Lol!)

But however you end up figuring out which nudes works best for you, having a go-to nude in your beauty arsenal is a total necessity. It’s the perfect finishing touch your ‘no-make-up make-up look’ and when all else fails, you can’t go wrong with a little gloss!

And remember, if I ask you to send nudes- this is what I’m talking about! 😉 What are your neutral faves? Let me know in the comments below!
