How to Look Taller in Photos (Without Heels!)

We all want to look a little taller right? Especially in photos! While nothing makes you look taller quite like a sexy pair of heels, they can be crazy uncomfortable to wear all day. Believe it or not, there’s actually a way to look taller in photos– without having to wear heels! More ways than one, in fact. Keep scrolling to read about my styling tips to make you look long and lean in all your photos!

1. Pointed Shoes

Nothing elongates your legs like good pair of pointed shoes. Heels, flats, block heels, you name it- pointed shoes help to visually continue the line of your leg and make you appear taller!

2. Long Trench

Though you might think it makes you look shorter, a long trench that hits at just the right length (I like it to hit right above my ankles) really helps! Plus, a coat with a higher waist line or belt-cinched waist can elongate your frame.

3. Top Knot

I’ve been rocking this hair style so much recently! It’s a great way to get my hair off my face, and totally chic up any look. Not to mention, the extra height on top of my head really helps to elongate me, showing off my neck and shoulders. Plus it’s a great way to show off some awesome statement earrings.

4. Lower Angle

Pro Tip: have whoever is taking the photo shoot it from a lower angle. Also, when editing your photos, crop as close around your body as possible so you can really fill the frame!

5. Monochrome

Monochromatic outfits are some of my favorites. First, they’re easy to put together (it’s all the same color palette!) and second, wearing a monochromatic look helps to visually streamline you, making you appear longer and taller!

6. High Waisted Pants

I swear by high waisted pants. I think I’ll wear a pair at least 3 to 4 times a week! They instantly make my legs look miles long. Between high waisted trousers like these or high waisted jeans like theseincorporating this silhouette into your wardrobe is easier than you might think! If you’ve got longer trousers that kind of bunch up at the bottom, it’s worth the money to get them hemmed. Having a good tailor is so worth the investment.

7. Cross One Leg Over

Just as much as styling plays a huge roll in the quest to look taller in your photos, posing is just as (if not more) important. My favorite pose to do is to shift my weight to my back leg and almost point my front leg forward. This helps elongate you as well as make you appear thinner! A total win!
