Paris Haute Couture Week Recap

Every July, the city of Paris opens its doors for Haute Couture Week. In France, the world of Haute Couture is actually protected by law under the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Paris. Translation:  Only those on an approved list can label themselves as Haute Couture.

With every year that I’m lucky enough to be asked to attend, I feel incredibly honored to be invited by some of the most astounding fashion houses on that list and feel so thankful to be able to watch their collections come to life in person. If it’s even possible, this season was even more amazing than the last! Keep scrolling to see a recap of the outfits I wore during the week!

VALENTINO

WORN TO THE VALENTINO SHOW

This look is an absolute dream. I love how Valentino always manages to perfectly marry modern elements and femininity into everything that they do. What’s amazing about this dress in particular is the incredible detail on it. From the beading to the colors, to the collar… it was the perfect look to wander through a Parisian garden. Though this dress might not be practical for every day, I did some research to find some amazing beaded pieces that you can wear on the daily, so check them out below!

OFF DUTY

THE GO-TO EXPLORING OUTFIT

On those days that I don’t have to be running from show to show, I reach for my favorite off-duty pieces. This time around, I gravitated towards this monochromatic white look. You really can’t go wrong with a good pair of high-waisted denim jeans and a pretty blouse! Then, of course, a pair of chic mirrored aviators (you might remember them from my sunglasses of summer post here!), a top knot and some kitten heel mules!

MONIQUE

WORN TO THE MONIQUE LHUILLIER SHOW

There are very few combinations as classic and as loved as black and white. When I found this dress by Monique Lhuillier, I was instantly drawn to it. The straight neckline is extremely flattering and I love the vintage vibe it has to it. The dress was actually on the bigger side for me, so I took this corset belt (similar here) and turned it around backwards to cinch it in and add a cool element to the look! I paired it with my killer Balenciaga boots for a sleek lady-like look with an added edge.

EXHIBIT

WORN TO THE DIOR SHOW

I love finding classic pieces with a twist, which is why I totally fell in love with this midi-skirt from Exhibit. It looks like a trench coat in skirt form! I paired it with a super cute off the shoulder top to play with proportions. The belt was actually taken from the dress I wore for the Dior Cruise show back in May. It was the perfect finishing touch!

CHANEL

WORN TO THE CHANEL SHOW

What’s more perfect to wear to the Chanel show than tweed and leather? This look ended up being one of my favorites because it was so simple and it reminded me of a look I would wear for a non-fashion week outfit. Just some cool trousers, a crop top, and a sleek blazer! I finished off the look with some of my favorite sunnies (check them out here) and some chic embellished sandals.

STAR POWER

WORN TO THE VOGUE PARIS DINNER WITH MUGLER

Probably one of the shortest (yet chicest), dresses I’ve ever worn was this Mugler dress to the Vogue Paris dinner. I loved the strong shoulder and structured silhouette, but especially adored the star embellishments! I’ve been seeing stars in fashion everywhere I’ve looked recently, and I’m totally here for it! From the print being on the larger scale like this dress, or tiny and dainty like they are here- its safe to say that the star print is here to stay!

NINA RICCI

WORN TO THE NINA RICCI RUNWAY SHOW

This look was so much fun because I was able to rock a ponytail, which is something I don’t do that often! This high-neck dress from Elie Saab was the perfect outfit to wear with a ponytail; it kept my hair off of my shoulders, out of my face, and perfectly highlighted the neckline! I was immediately drawn to this dress because of the super cool zipper and grommet details. The industrial details turned a very feminine dress into something super cool and modern. I found some more cool pieces with grommet details, so be sure to check them out below!

It’s so crazy that another Haute Couture season has come and gone, and now the CINCteam and I are starting to gear up for Fashion Month in September! Time flies when you’re having fun ;).
