MOMMY Week Day 2: Learning to Let Go

It’s Day 2 of Mommy Week today and I’m so excited to have partnered up with DSW to share my experience as a mother for the past 2 years. It’s surreal to think that I’ve been a mom for over 2 years already, and wow what a difference 2 years can make. Although I like to say that I’m the same person…. I’m not. I’ve been filled with so much love from motherhood that I have so much more love to give to others.

My outlook on life is completely different now too. Before I used to always live in the future. I would always be 10 step ahead of everyone else and pre-plan everything. Needless to say, that is how I got to where I am today, but it’s almost as if I’ve had to unlearn my past habits. Having a baby is the best indicator of how fast time passes by… and through motherhood I’ve learned the importance of living in the moment. It’s ok to pre-plan things but sometimes the best things just happen as you are living in it.

This shoot being the perfect example. I originally had a different concept in mind but all of a sudden she wanted to eat ice cream out of nowhere (well of course… what toddler doesn’t love ice cream?), so I decided to deviate from my original plan and take her to get some ice cream! She was happy as she could be and this just shows you that sometimes you just have to let go and LIVE! And sometimes the best moments will present itself during those times. (Note: this does not mean you should feed your child ice cream every time lol). I will never forget her cute chuckling face as she danced the afternoon away with her ice cream and new Adidas sneakers from DSW. I’ve been obsessed with these shoes for Chloe and she has been wearing them every day since we got them! Plus they are super easy to slip on and slip off when getting her dressed.

Anyways no matter how many mini meltdowns Chloe may have (we go through several a day especially at this age of two) I always remember to take a deep breath, let go, live in the moment, and march on because as cheesy as it may sound… I wouldn’t trade motherhood in for anything else! PS: Check out Mommy Week Day 1 here!

Thanks to this partnership, a wonderful donation has been made to Baby 2 Baby.

  • Great post Chriselle! Planing, pre-planing and then planning again, story of my life haha! Totally got me to where I am today as well. However I had to learn how to let go some times, even without having a baby! And I really admire you for having found the ways to balance all the parts of your life <3 Hope to need your mommy advice very soon 🙂
PS: Every toddler that respects itself should have a daily ice cream right? Chloe is beyond adorable!

This is adorable. Although I am not a mommy, these posts make me think of my mum and how thankful I am to have someone who was there with the right attitude and the most support during all my melt downs, aged 2 and upwards!

I have a question: what serum and tonic/essence would recomend to somoene with an acne prone skin and large pores ? And how many times per week do you exfoliate your skin and use a mask ?
    Thank you xx
PS: the last video with Allen and Chloe dancing was so funny and cute to watch

Oh how lovely and heartwarming photos!?! Beautiful, charming and super stylish ladies! 🙂
I’ve been a mom to a gorgeous girl for 8 years already and being her mom has changed me for forever
and has thought me so much, one of the things being same as you’ve mentioned here: living in the moment and learning
how to let go. With kids nothing is certain and schedules change all the time and that is ok. Sometimes the most awesome
moments happen exactly then, when the unexpected happens. 🙂
