How to Wear Bold Spring Makeup

Bold colors are everywhere for Spring and being able to incorporate them throughout my wardrobe has been so much fun! But as much as I love throwing on a bright red bag or boots like I did in this post here, I’m also loving color in bold makeup looks. From bright eyeshadow to ‘unicorn highlighter’ I’m sharing my three favorite ways to bring a little bold to your everyday makeup!

1. Bold Eyes

Okay so, a bright yellow eyeshadow all over your lids might not be the first thing you reach for when you do your makeup, but not going to lie- I’m kind of loving it. If you decide to do a bold eye look like this in any color (purple, pink, red, you name it) I’d recommend you keep the rest of your makeup simple to really keep the focus on your eyes. Too much competition could make you look like one of those crazy snapchat filters! If you really want to kick it up a notch, take a clear lip gloss or even vaseline and blot it over your shadow to give a really cool slicked wet effect!

2. Glossy Lip

Orange lips are totally a win for this season. Whether you reach for a sheer gloss like this one, an orangey coral shade like this or a bright, pigmented, sucker-punch, in your face, stopping traffic kind of shade- an orange lip is definitely something to add to your arsenal of spring lip colors. Just like the glossy yellow shadow look I did above, adding a gloss over a bold lip is a great way to change up the look and add some moisture.

3. Unicorn Highlighter

A highlighter is something I usually wear as a part of my everyday makeup routine, but after finding this absolutely gorgeous blueish purple highlighter I knew I wanted to give it a try. All the girls in the office have been calling it the ‘unicorn highlighter’ because it’s just so magical! I wore it almost as a replacement for a blush, so I swept it over the apples of my cheeks and up to my temple to get a gorgeous wash of the color.

Are you guys ready to incorporate some bold colors into your makeup routine? Let me know in the comments below and have a fantastic day!
