Beach Ready Makeup

I know it’s not summer just yet, but I think beach weather has officially arrived in Los Angeles! If you’ve been following along with me on Instagram, you know that Allen, Chloe, and I have made our way to the beach almost every weekend for the last month. Though I usually do my beach days sans makeup, sometimes it’s nice to have a little base on. So today, I’m giving you a little peek into my beach makeup bag to show you how I get my beach ready “makeup” look:

1.  BB Cream with SPF

BB cream is a GODSENT for beach days. It’s lighter than your everyday foundation, but it still gives me the coverage I want! Most BB cream formulas come with SPF built in, so it’s usually a win-win. However, no matter how much SPF your BB cream might have, ALWAYS layer it over sunscreen! (Don’t forget your ears, too!)

2. Water Proof Mascara

Whether youre jumping in the pool or the ocean, waterproof mascara is a must-have for a day in the sun. Even if you don’t get into the water, waterproof mascara protects against sweat, too! In my experience, a little goes a long way. Adding just a few strokes on your top lashes can help define your eyes!

3. Cream Blush

Anything cream based is perfect for a beach or pool day. Cream blush (like this one) is great to liven up your skin and give you a little flush. It blends really easily and honestly stays put all day! I like to use my fingers to blend the product on my cheeks and I use the leftovers on my lips! Pro tip: use a lip balm with a high SPF and reapply through the day. Nothing is worse than finding a sunburn on your lips at the end of the day!

4.  Setting Spray

However much, or little, makeup you end up wearing, finishing it off with a setting spray is the best way to ensure your face won’t melt off come nighttime. This spray here helps set your makeup plus has a great dose of SPF, which is perfect for a beach day and your everyday makeup!

5. Blotting Papers

I usually keep blotting papers in my purse, so having a pack in my beach bag is a no-brainer. Blotting throughout the day, and especially as you’re leaving your beach destination can help pick up that excess sweat and oil before it gets a chance to seep into your pores. They’re a great way to give yourself a little refresh and keep everything in place.
