PFW Day 5: Valentino Dreams
The past 24 hours has been the most chill since I’ve been here in Paris. I got to catch up with some old friends, enjoy a decent lunch AND dinner (this hasn’t happened for days!) and party with my Valentino family! PFW Day 5, you were pretty great.
I started my day meeting my dear friend Nathalie for lunch. We met each other about a year ago at this very location: Hôtel Costes. We reminisced about everything that’s happened over the year and made sure to have some quality mommy talk about our babies. Nathalie and I were pregnant around at the same time and she has a little girl who is a few months older than Chloe. It’s not easy being away from Chloe for so long but having fellow working mommies in the industry to support each other always motivates and inspires me. BTW, if you are ever in Paris and go to Hôtel Costes, you must order the raw salmon… it’s seriously the best I’ve had!
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, Valentino has a very special place in my heart as they were one of the first houses that invited me to their show during fashion week. It has always been my absolute favorite show to attend and this year was no different. It was creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first solo collection so there was a lot of buildup and excitement around the show. The collection was as dreamy, feminine, and romantic as ever but with more of a carefree, young, and lighthearted spirit. It was very invigorating to see and I am dying get my hands on a few of those pieces!
The team and I have been working so hard this week and we were feeling a bit tired so we decided to get our caffeine buzz on a little later in the day! I’ve expressed this before but I am so thankful I have my team to continue to motivate and inspire each other. (Even if we only get 3 hours of sleep!)
Out of all the Valentino shows I’ve attended, this is quite possibly my favorite look I have ever worn. It was amazing because my friends at Valentino already had the look picked out when I arrived at the fitting! They said the look was “very Chriselle” (Thanks again, Caitlin)! For being such a simple silhouette, there was so much intricacy and detail going on. From the leather flowers on my top and skirt, to the small rock studs detail on the cuff of the blouse and the rock studs on the heels. It just goes to show you that a little detail goes a long way!
Tonight, we had a lovely dinner meeting at a cafe inside the Louvre which I didn’t even know existed! I had a delicious octopus salad and shared a pasta with the team! Talk about dinner with a view!
After dinner, we headed straight to the L’Oréal Gold party. We stopped by and said hello to the L’Oréal team. The party was incredibly decadent and GOLD to say the least.
Afterwards, we party hopped to the Valentino party! They always throw the best parties during fashion week and their creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, loves to dance so you know you’ll be on the dance floor all night! I ended up doing a quick outfit change into this gorgeous Valentino gown. It was delicate, beautiful, and I didn’t want to take it off! It was a very intimate event and almost felt like I was partying with my family.
We are mid-way thru the week and although I’m having the time of my life all I can think of is my family and Chloe! I’m trying to keep a positive attitude so we can end the week strong but sometimes all you want to do is curl up in bed and FaceTime with your fam (which I’ve been doing every day) I also snapchatted last night about how exhausting these daily updates are but it’s worth it to make you guys feel like you are here with me! Your words and thoughts keep me motivated so I would love to hear if you guys are enjoying these daily updates!
