PFW Day 3: Dancing on Tables

Bon weekend, everyone!  Day 3 in Paris was probably one of my favorite days yet and here’s why: I got to go backstage at the Dior SS17 show, twirl around in a drop dead gorgeous Valentino dress and dance on tables with my girl Irene Kim! To say I didn’t want the day to end is an understatement.  In case you missed the first couple of days, you can read them here:  PFW Day 1 & PFW Day 2!

10AM: Getting Ready with Dior Beauty

We decided to go for a more of a vampy look because the second I saw their Rouge Dior Lipstick in the Poison Matte 962 color I was obsessed. It’s a satin-to-matte lipstick that’s highly pigmented
which makes it incredibly rich and comfortable to wear. It goes on super easy and the vibrant color lasted long into the night.

12PM: Dior Backstage

I arrived at the venue a bit early so I could get a first look backstage and have a moment to chat with Peter Phillips, the creative director of Dior Beauty. I asked him what his vision & inspiration was for this first collection with Maria. He said that it was all about individual beauty, so they wanted more of a natural look for all the girls so their true personalities and faces would show. It’s all about celebrating your own individuality!

2PM: Dior Show

There was a lot of excitement around the show because it was the debut of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s first collection as the creative director for Dior. She is actually the first woman to be named creative director of Christian Dior in the company’s 70-year history!
The show itself was absolutely beautiful. The DNA of Dior was still there with the emphasis on femininity. It was perfectly effortless. Brava, Maria!

3PM: Dior Street Chic

I ended up pairing this light silk top with a pair of leather culottes and booties for a simple yet edgy look. Dior presented me with the most beautiful purse so I really wanted the focus to be on the accessories and obviously my beauty look. A big thank you to my girl Fanny for this special experience with Dior… a true dream come true!

4PM: Nouvelle Heritage x Tina Craig

I was able to quickly stop by and visit my girl Tina Craig of the Bagsnob as she just launched her collection with Nouvelle Heritage. She not only walked me and my team through the collection but she also showed us where all the magic happens in the workshop! We actually saw one of the rings being made by hand. I was so impressed!

5PM: Valentino Fitting

Valentino fittings are my absolute favorite! It’s always in their glorious showroom and I get to catch up with my Valentino fam. (Love you Caitlin!) Valentino has a very special place in my heart as they were one of the first brands to invite me to their show when I first started attending Paris Fashion Week and I will never forget that. I had so much fun twirling and prancing around the showroom. Something about being there always gets me giddy inside… like a little girl!

7PM: Girl's Night with Irene

It’s so rare to find time during fashion week to just chill and really catch up with your close friends but today I got to do that with Irene! I brought the pizza and she brought the champagne and we just had a great time together. We also managed to shoot a little something silly for Vogue China while we were at it! We had so much fun together. It makes me wish we could do this more often.

From my first Dior show, to my fairytale fitting with Valentino, and girls night in with Irene… it was probably my favorite day so far. Be sure to check back tomorrow at 3pm PST to see my PFW Day 4, and check out my Day 1 & 2 here (if you haven’t caught up already)!
