NYFW Day 8: Shutting Down a New York Street

I can’t believe it’s already Day 8 of NYFW!  It’s now been two full weeks that I’ve been in New York and as much as I love The Big Apple, I’m excited Fashion Week is wrapping up so I can get home to Allen and Chloe!

8AM: But First, Breakfast!

I started off my day with a yummy (and heathy!) breakfast in my hotel room at the Chatwal Hotel! Some fresh fruit, egg whites and a cup of coffee is the perfect fuel for fashion week!

9AM: Street Style

Before heading to the Michael Kors show, we stopped for a little street style shoot! I wore this Gucci look which reminded me of the Michael Kors aesthetic. I wore a red white and blue striped pencil skirt and a comfy red v-neck knit with the cutest ruffles on the shoulders. I felt like a patriotic cheer leader!

10AM: Michael Kors Show

I was so excited to attend the Michael Kors show for the very first time. The collection was everything I could have hoped for. Not to mention the fact that Rufus Wainwright was playing live as the models walked down the runway. The entire audience was completely blown away. This show took place in Spring Studios and was the epitome of what NYC is all about – classic jazz music and classic outfits. What more could you want?

11AM: Georgetown Cupcakes

After the Michael Kors show I stopped by Georgetown Cupcakes to pick up some treats for my agency. As much as I tried to resist, I just had to get one for myself. It seems that anytime I’m homesick, I eat a lot of sweets! Red velvet anyone?

6PM: Ralph Lauren

I had a really big break today between shows so I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep. I took a 2 hour nap and it was just what the doctor ordered! Afterwards, I got ready and headed straight to the Ralph Lauren show. The collection was breathtaking as always, but they did something a little different this time. They transformed the Ralph Lauren store front on Madison Ave into a runway! There are only a few designers who can shut down a New York Street and Ralph Lauren is definitely one of them.

6:30PM : See-Now-Buy-Now

The Ralph Lauren show was See-Now-Buy-Now Show! The attendees were able go right into the store and immediately shop the collection! It’s interesting to see that a lot of brands are now making collections available right off the runway!

For the show I decided to go for yet another monochrome look. The coolest part about this look was that it was all suede! The pants were a sweatpants silhouette so I dressed them up with my heeled booties and a lacey top!

I can’t believe tomorrow is the going to be the last NYFW post! It’s going to be a good one-trust me. If you missed any of my previous fashion week posts, click below! What’s been your favorite day so far? Let me know in the comments!
