1. Rearrange Your Coffee Table
One of the best ways to style your home quickly is to consider what you already have to work with. Don’t pack away your beautiful books or vases. Instead, use them to refresh your coffee table space. Just switching sides a piece of décor is on can give the room an entirely new look. Remember that grouping objects in three is the rule of thumb for making your coffee table look like a display instead of something random. For more tips, read our article on how to style a coffee table.
2. Get Rid of the Clutter
Everyone is guilty of it. Whether it’s the study, the kitchen counter, or the bedroom, we know there’s a place where you stuff envelopes, coupons, pens, non-urgent paperwork, etc. You will feel so much better after taking a few minutes to throw out everything you don’t need and file away everything else into a tidy and hidden system. The clearer your home, the clearer your mind. So go ahead and put your mind at ease.
3. Fluff Your Pillows
One easy way to spice up your living room is to rearrange and fluff up your pillows. Just like the coffee table, take a look at what you already own and see if they could be combined in a different or more interesting arrangement. Ever wonder how to professionally fluff your pillows? First fluff them up, then giving them a chop down the middle with your hand. Your living room will look magazine ready!
4. Clean Your Glass Surfaces
A really quick way to make your home instantly look brighter and feel fresher is to clean your glass surfaces. Wipe down your windows, mirrors, and any glass surfaces to allow light to really fill up your home. And if you didn’t read it in our 5 Tips to Make your Home Pinterest Worthy, our secret glass cleaning solution is 2 cups water, ¼ cup white vinegar, ½ teaspoon of dish detergent.
5. Dust Your Lighting
Dusting your lighting fixtures is a task that gets often ignored or forgotten when you clean, but since lights get extremely dusty, wiping them off will make a big difference. You’ll be surprised. Not sure how to tackle the chandelier or pendants? Grab a ladder if you need one. Throw on a pair of white cotton gloves, one dry and one dampened with our glass cleaning solution above. Then, make sure the lighting fixture is cool and wipe each prism or arm with the damp glove and then the dry one.

I love these simple tips- great reminders that the little things can make a big difference. I’m constantly battling my clutter issues- I don’t like clutter at all but I manage to create little clutter piles around my house. One of my twin girls loves to organize and keep things tidy- as she gets older she can help keep mommy clutter-free! 😉 Thanks for sharing.

I love the coffee table tip about grouping in threes. I also love the picture that went with it. So good. Also, I laughed at the fluffing pillow tip. CHOP down the middle haha. Interesting though! Also, I think people forget to dust their lights because #chore lmao. 🙂

Hi dear chriselle I love the home posts!!
The advice number 1 (rearrange your coffee table) is my favourite
Xoxo M.
Ooohhh, the number 2 seems like it’s gonna work against me. Some of the clutter is my best friend, I just cannot seem to shake it. Always something somewhere. Grrrrr! 🙁
I do agree, a slight little arrangement in decoration can and will make a big difference to the adjustment of our views. I try to do that all the time too, just to update and create a refresh in interest. What a great little post as usual, you always ROCK Mademoiselle Chriselle! 🙂
