5 Ways to Look Younger Without Botox

You guys might have read my Byrdie article about How To Look Younger Without Botox Or Fillers, so today I wanted to continue that conversation and talk about more tips and tricks on looking younger. I mean let’s be real … We all get to a point where we ask ourselves, “Should I try it?” Yes, I’m talking about Botox and fillers. But the next time you find yourself asking these questions I hope that you will consider these tips! I’ve gathered theses along the way… whether it be through my beauty obsessed mom, a reliable friend, or just some good old research on the Internet. These are things that I have personally tried and have seen some sort of result- immediate or not. I’ve also realized that a big part of looking younger is related to skin. Although not all of the tips are skin related you will find the majority of them have to do with it.

1. Sleep with a Humidifier On.
I started to sleep with a humidifier on when I had Chloe because I needed the air to be super clean for her. It brings moisture to the air which also feeds your skin and keeps it hydrated. Not only does it keep your skin hydrated and moist through the night, but it can also help plump up wrinkles over time. It’s a win-win … clean air for baby and hydrated younger skin for me!

2. Sleep from 10pm- 2 am.
This one has always been a hard one for me since I’m such a night owl. I can easily go to sleep at 2 or 3 am every day if I could. But these hours are so crucial because that is when cell metabolism and skin regeneration happens. During these hours, the production of collagen is boosted and all the harmful free radicals are destroyed. Not only is it important to get a certain amount of hours of sleep but it’s actually more important to sleep at the right hours.

3. Drink 10-12 cup of water a day / RESULTS SEEN IN- 5-7 days.
This might be an obvious one but I can’t emphasize how important it is. I also find myself forgetting this one as it is easily overlooked. I find my skin at its best when I’m drinking 10-12 cups of water a day. That pretty much means carrying around a large bottle of water with me whenever I go. It’s a hassle but it’s so worth it. When you are hydrated internally your skin will reflect it. You will have a dewy & clear complex that will instantly make you look more vibrant. So let this be a reminder to you to drink more water on a daily basis! And if you have a hard time drinking plain water like myself then you might want to try spiking your water as seen here.

4. Popping Pills / Results seen in 4 -5 months.
I actually adopted this from my mom. I would watch my mom pop pills (from vitamins to beauty pills) every day religiously in the morning. I don’t know about you but I HATE swallowing pills. I’ve hated it as a kid and I still hate it to this day, but I’ve made it part of my morning routine before I run out the door to work. Besides my daily doses of vitamins I’ve been taking Evening Primrose. I first discovered this when I took a work trip to Greece. I visited the very first Korres pharmacy in Greece and they were all raving about their Primrose capsules. Then I found out that my mom also has been taking them for years now! So what is it? It is super rich in (omega-6) fatty acids and also include hemp, spirulina, and black currant oils. Taking Evening Primrose also has many physical benefits, including relief from brittle nails, sunburn, and acne. It promotes internal hydration also giving a glow to the skin. I also take hyaluronic acid supplements which are critical for retaining skin elasticity and moisture.

5. Beauty Drip / Results seen immediately.
Now this one may sound a bit scary because there is a needle involved. It’s pretty much an IV that delivers all the nutrients you need. The first time I ever did this was before I had to jump on a flight and was feeling slightly under the weather. So out of desperation, I gave it a try. Not only did it fight my cold 24 hours later but it also gave me this slight glow. You can either get this done once a month or just get the drips done for special events. It will give you a nice glow to your skin and make you look more well rested and hydrated. Supposedly your body only absorbs 20% of the vitamins you take whereas with these drips it is increased to 90%.

6. Roll & Lift/ Results seen in 3-4 weeks.
I discovered this little rolling tool in Korea years ago but I was not able to find it anywhere here in the states until Dr. Jart came out with one. Check it out here! If you follow me on snapchat you know I use this practically every day. It’s a sculpting tool that promotes tightness and a lift to the skin. As we get older we lose elasticity in the skin and with this tool I’m able to give myself a noninvasive facelift. It’s also a great tool to release your muscles and drain the lymph nodes. You can also see 3 other DIY face massages I give myself on a daily basis HERE

I hope that these tips have helped inspired you to try something new in your routine! Remember that aging is just part of the process and it’s a beautiful thing! Whether that you decide to move forward with Botox/fillers I hope you will give these a try! And here are a few more beauty tips I exclusively shared with Byrdie on How To Look Younger HERE!
