7 Places to Eat in NYC

Now that I’m back in the second work day, I can’t believe NYFW is over! I can’t tell you guys how great it is not having to wear heattech under everything. But thinking back to New York, this was actually our best NYFW yet. Usually we are always running back to back to shows and we hardly have time to eat, but this time around it felt really chill. Don’t get me wrong, we still had a lot of shows to go to and if you guys remember from this little Instagram video, I definitely struggled changing in the car a few times!

I’m not much of a foodie, but luckily I had my BFF Linette who’s a New York local to show us around to where all the best eating spots were. So here is my list of 7 places to eat in New York!

1. Egg Shop | Breakfast/Brunch | Little Italy

By far one of my favorite brunch spots in the city is Egg Shop! Located in Little Italy, Egg Shop has any kind of breakfast sandwich you can think of. They also have amazing breakfast bowls that was super delicious. I got the avocado toast (surprise), but we all picked from each other’s plates because everything looked so good!

2. Doughnut Plant | Doughnuts | Multiple Locations

So if you remember from my snapchat (@chrisellelim), I stopped by Doughnut Plant more than once, but can you blame me? These all natural doughnuts come in tons of flavors and with locations all over Manhattan and Brooklyn, it was so great to just sneak in for a little pick me up! I came here on Valentine’s Day with my team as well as my BFF Linette who happens to live in the city for a galentine! We got their special donut of the day, which was a vanilla heart shaped donut! I’m all for living a healthy lifestyle, but sometimes a girl just has to enjoy a little right?

3. The Smith | American Food | Midtown East

This super cool restaurant/bar in Midtown was such a great spot for my team and I to come together for brunch! I always come here after shows because a lot of the shows would be right across the street from this little restaurant. The interior of the restaurant had white subway tiled walls, vintage photos all around and intricate tile floors, it was a really cool, laid back atmosphere. We got their french toast and avocado toast (surprise, surprise) and of course, coffee!

4. Kiki | Greek Food | Lower East Side / Chinatown

One of my favorite parts about this Greek spot in Chinatown is that the awning has the restaurant’s name written in its Chinese characters, which is a really cool tribute to the neighborhood! My team and I ate here one day for lunch, thanks to Linette’s recommendation! This was the day where it was literally below 10 degrees. Having hot soup here was the best feeling in the world! Not to mention it was the best chicken soup I’ve ever had. I loved how cozy the restaurant felt with their exposed wooden beams, concrete walls and hanging plants. It was the perfect escape from the cold!

5. Grace Street | Coffee & Dessert | Koreatown

This cafe is conveniently located literally right next to 5 senses. I always come here with my team whenever we are in New York because they have the most delicious dessert that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else! (Unless if I go to Korea!) My favorite was their ho-dduk, which is a Korean donut with red bean and a side of ice cream. I also love their OG shaved ice, which has sesame shaved ice with mochi, red bean and strawberries! A little tip for you guys, they only serve the dessert to you in plates after 5pm.

6. by Chloe | Vegan | Greenwich Village

I’ve only been here twice, but every single time I’m here it’s always PACKED. Even when it was snowing there was a line that went out the door! I love how healthy and light the food here is. We got the quinoa bowl and vegan burger. I’m not vegan but this place makes me want to become vegan, it’s so good! By Chloe also has some great coffee (a must have for our crazy fashion week schedule), but my favorite has got to be their fries and the beet ketchup sauce!

7. 5 Senses | Korean | Koreatown

If you’ve followed my team and I on our last few trips, then you know that this is the ONE restaurant that we always keep coming back to! I think I must’ve broken a record though because I had dinner here 3 times this trip. But because we always ended our shows late, we always just ended up defaulted to 5 senses because they’re open 24 hours. And not to mention I haven’t been able to find anywhere that makes kimchi fried rice like they do!

And there you have it, my 7 places to eat in New York! Looking back at this, I really can’t believe we ate so much this trip. I definitely have to get back into my workout routine while I’m back in Cali! Happy Tuesday!
