Feminine and Strong

If you guys follow me on snapchat, you’ve probably already seen this dress because it was one of my choices for the Golden Globes! Unfortunately it was a little bit too casual for the Globes, but I was waiting for the right event to wear it. So when I got invited to the Marie Claire Image Maker Awards, I knew it was the perfect opportunity! This dress is by an Australian designer, Ellery. Although I’ve never been to Australia, it’s definitely on my bucket list. Not only is Australia itself gorgeous, but there’s so much talent coming out of it- especially in the fashion scene. A lot of my favorite pieces have been from Aussie designers, Ellery being one of them. She has a way of making feminine pieces give a bold statement, as you can see from the ruffled sleeves of this dress, and here and here.

I think it’s refreshing to see a designer doing something different because although I love my casual Cali street style, I love a good statement piece too. What I appreciate about this collection is that you can wear the pieces casually or dress them up and make them work for a red carpet event! Even creating that perfect bold statement outfit for fashion week! This coat was the perfect companion for this look. It’s a new line called Designers Remix that I’ve recently discovered. It has a boxy silhouette that reminds me of Acne Studios, but it’s such a feminine color, that makes it wearable.

Speaking of Fashion Week, I’m attending my first Couture week in Paris with my team! We’re working on a project I can’t really talk about yet, but you’re going to love it. I’m also excited because I might be bringing Chloe! Haven’t 100 percent confirmed it, but be sure to stay tuned & find out…

Anyways have a great weekend everyone! I’ll be hosting Chloe’s 1st birthday party tomorrow and a lot of family & friends are flying in tonight, be sure to watch the craziness on snapchat!
