3 Holiday Lip Color Pairings

Today I want to talk about your best accessory and pairing it with your outfit .. your lip! Aside from the simple rings and necklace, I’m don’t wear too much jewelry anymore. I find myself focusing mostly on my skincare regime and beauty routine and having the focal point be more about my lip. I think having a bold lip is a great way to brighten up your look while still keeping your makeup natural.

I just learned about Eve by Eve’s not too long ago but I instantly gravitated toward its packaging because of the clean lines and the gold finishings. One of my favorite things about the Eve by Eve’s cosmetics is that they’re made in small batches at a time to preserve quality, so you know you’re getting something good! They’re made with all natural ingredients from the best sources around the world. Their cosmetics have a variety of products from eyeliner to shadows, but my favorite product that I tested from them are the lipsticks. I’ve always loved the matte lip trend that’s happening right now because it’s such a great way to bring drama to your holiday look. Unfortunately, the girls that suffer from chapped lips (like me!) can’t really pull off this look without looking like you don’t own chapstick. That’s why I’m completely obsessing over their lipsticks because it has a similar velvety texture as a matte lip yet it’s incredibly moisturizing and soft! (Didn’t even need to apply chapstick before I applied it. That’s a first!)

And with a wide variety of colors out there for the holidays, I wanted to share with you guys the 3 lip colors that I always gravitate towards year after year. And for some reason I always end up pairing my lip color with certain colors with my clothes. For example- Red with Red, Pink with Greys, and Purple with Blacks. So I hope that these color combinations can inspire you to try something new for the holidays. You can use this as your cheat sheet when getting glammed up for the holiday festivities.  So without further ado, here are my 3 holiday lip color pairings!

1. Pink & Dove Grey

These colors hold a very special place in my heart because soft pink and dove grey were actually my wedding colors!

I love the romance and the elegance of this combination. Grey and pink together are already very soft and something about the grey makes the pink more pink. When wearing these soft colors, it gives me a chance to contour and put a slight shimmer on my eye. One of my favorite makeup tricks when rocking a pink lip is to wear a matte finish, which makes this pink French Rose lip color perfect! I also like to add a little gloss (in a similar shade) to the center of my lips to add dimension!

2. Red & Red

Nothing is more classic than a red lip. And as you guys know, one of my favorite things to do is wear full monochrome outfits when I do color! It might seem risky to wear a red dress with a red lip, but trust me.. it works. When doing your makeup for a red-on-red look, it’s important to remember to be really minimal when it comes to your eyes. I loved pairing this Luscious Rouge lipstick and Orange Blossom lip gloss for the finishing touch! Try doing a red-on-red look for a glamorous and sexy holiday look!

3. Violet & Black

This combination is one of my favorites because it’s very seductive and mysterious. Something about the dark colors together looks very rich and luxurious. Since this is such a dramatic lip, I like to keep the rest of my makeup fairly simple. It took me a while to adopt purple into my lip collection, but it’s actually more wearable than it seems. Although the lip color itself looks very “purple”, when applied it’s a mixture of oxblood & fuchsia. I wear very minimal eye makeup when I do a lip like this. I used the Winter Iris lipstick and the Amethyst Dream gloss so that the focal point is my lips! I’ve also noticed that when wearing a dark lip, especially with a blue undertone, can make your teeth look super white!
