3 Summer Work Outfits

As LA summer peaks, it gets harder and harder to dress for work! I wanted to show you guys what I would wear in 3 different work situations, from client meetings to a day in the office. I may not have a traditional job where I have to dress up in suits every day, but there are still some tips & tricks that I use to look professional and ready for business.. especially in this heat!

10am Brainstorm Session

This eyelet blouse is perfect for summer as it’s breezy & light, perfect for handling heat. A classic white & nude outfit looks both feminine and chic!

I love the color scheme of this outfit as it’s soft and neutral, totally up my alley. When I’m working out of the office, I like to wear no fuss pieces that are classic but with a twist. Even though I work in the creative field, I find that it’s important to adhere to some dress code guidelines.. especially if I have client meetings! If you pay attention to my look, you’ll notice all my pieces are pretty basic and versatile. My blouse is an eyelet material which perfect for this hot weather and adds a quirky vibe. I’m rocking my favorite color yet again with my blush pink trousers that are slightly cropped, and of course a stacked sandal in a cognac color to balance it all out.

2pm Showroom Appointments

I’m in love with the lightweight way this trench coat feels, it’s the perfect layering piece!

I  think that an all white outfit is so classic in any situation, especially when dressing for work. Throw on a subtle plaid oxfords and my favorite lightweight trench and I’m out the door. A great trench is a closet essential that’s perfect for work or play. I find that if you use the belt to cinch it in the back it looks a lot more tailored and clean than just leaving the belt hanging. When I do play with color it’s with my lips! Throw on my favorite pop of color like a red lip and you are ready to rock your work day!

4pm Client Meeting

This floral printed dress can be dressed up or down for meetings and for play!

Dessert meetings or dinner meetings call for something a bit more dressed up than your 9-5 hours. But sometimes, finding a balance between work appropriate and looking like you’re going on a date can be challenging. Find a shift dress (my favorite silhouette.. it’s so flattering!) that hits just above the knee, and throw on either a blazer or trench coat will keep you from looking like you’re going out on the town. And of course a pointed stiletto is always appropriate.

And there you have it, my 3 summer work outfits! Which one are you guys going to try?
