Royal Blue Sweater & Asymmetrical Skirt

Photography by Karen Rosalie

I can’t believe it’s Monday already .. This past weekend went by so quickly! As I mentioned before, this weekend was Chloe’s 100th day celebration. Thank you to all my family and friends for coming all the way to celebrate with us! And a BIG thank you to everyone who helped me put together such a beautiful event for Chloe! I’m so blessed and thankful to be able to celebrate with so many loved ones. This weekend was so wonderful in countless ways. Will be posting the full reveal of the party this week, but for now you can see some images from instagram using #chloevictoriaturns100days!

Anyway I’m starting this Monday off with yet another easy and effortless one piece sweater dress! Just kidding. It’s actually two pieces but this royal blue sweater was made for this asymmetrical wrap skirt (the blue in the skirt is identical!). This is a look I wore last week to a very important “corporate” type of meeting. Thankfully I have a job where I’m able to wear what I want when I want, but there are random occasions where I have to really dress the part. I decided to stick with classic silhouettes such as this knee length pencil skirt along with a classic crew neck sweater. With classic silhouettes I always look for pieces that have a bit of a twist to them. With the tie wrap, asymmetrical hem, and pops of colors..this is definitely not your average knee length skirt.  The skirt also has no closure besides the sash which allows a variety of ways to wear it. I know that dressing for work can get quite mundane (especially if there’s a dress code), but look for pieces that have a special twist to them… play with colors, textures, and mix & match!

Recently I discovered this new line called Shaffer, and I’ve been completely obsessed with everything from the line. From their structured bucket bags to the white tote that I’m carrying here. This tote is my new go-to spring work purse. It’s large enough to fit my laptop, my large makeup case, iPad (yes I carry around a laptop and an iPad!), wallet, and an extra pair of shoes ( I usually carry around a pair of flats if I’m wearing heels for the day). Since this week is all meetings and no play, I am definitely opting for a look that is modern and sophisticated. What is your power outfit for this Monday? Wishing you all a stress-free work week!
