Whether it be an off the shoulder or strapless top, every year I wait for this season to wear my shoulder baring pieces. In my “shoulder cleavage” post I mentioned that while some girls love showing off their booty or abs.. I love showing off my shoulders! Not to mention, off the shoulder tops and strapless dresses is a great way to subtly show off some skin all while adding a bit of mystery.
As my style progresses throughout the years, I find myself gravitating toward more simple and effortless pieces, but in all honesty I’m still at heart a romantic. ‘Til this day I daydream of frolicking under the eiffel tower with Allen and Chloe in a whimsy lace dress while we picnic together as a family. (I’m determined to make that happen one of these days!). You see… I’ve always had an ongoing affair with lace, from my engagement dress to even my wedding gown. It’s one of those materials that instantly softens up your look, lightens your mood, and allows you to dream a little. The sheer lace on this dress from Express is so delicate and romantic, it’s definitely a great piece for all the events that’s happening this season. It can make just as much sense to where to a brunch with friends or as a bikini cover up for a weekend trip to somewhere exotic and fun! And the open back in this dress is a subtle detail but a complete selling point for me. It’s all in the details! (Not to mention strapless tops are ideal for any nursing mamas out there.)
