Confession time: I get lost a lot. I know I have a GPS built into my phone and my car, and Allen is always telling me to pay attention to it when I’m driving, but does anyone else sometimes just drift off and before you know it you’ve missed like three turns? This shoot happened when I went with my team to a national park for a shoot, but we ended up 50 miles in the opposite direction at a desert instead. It was 109 degrees and the park ranger told us that no one usually comes at this time because of the extreme heat! We had expected to see fields of flowers but instead we ended up in dry scorching heat with a high possibility of rattlesnakes. It’s one of those situations that you look back on and laugh about, and in the end we ended up making it work anyway. Despite the heat, it was kind of crazy to see how close we actually were to the mountains, and I’m in love with how these shots turned out.
I also love this MLM Label dress, it’s perfect for my growing bump. I’m dressing it down with my Balacienga sandals here, but with heels it’s the perfect dress for a nice dinner out. Also black is super slimming so I feel sexy and comfortable in this dress even though it was scorching hot that day.
As LA hits 90 degrees today, I feel like this desert post couldn’t be more appropriate. (When will it truly be fall?! ugh! ) Sending you guys a reminder that though situations may not turn out like you’d expect, sometimes it can lead to little surprises! Hoping you all have a great week, and please share with me in the comments if you guys ever had a similar situation happen to you, or if you simply are horrible with directions…like me!

Funny story: When I was moving from Tennessee to California, my then-boyfriend stopped off at a gas station somewhere in Arizona. We got back on the interstate & I remember thinking, “Something doesn’t seem right about this.” Three hours later, we started seeing signs again for Albuquerque. OOPS.

Lol Chriselle. I’m pretty good with directions and rarely get lost but once I did get lost. It was in another state and they couldn’t speak English so I guess I can be excused for getting lost. I stopped in the middle of nowhere and called my friend whom I was going to visit. It was a terrifying day for me, lol. I can laugh about it now though, thank goodness.
