Dressing the Bump // Week 24

Sorry I missed week 23 (doctor did say to get more rest right?), but here I am on week 24! Showcasing last week’s outfit.. enjoy!

Dress: BCBG | Bag: Givenchy (similar here) | Shoes: BCBG

Monday

I love this dress, it makes my bump looks like a cracked eggshell. (But the baby is perfectly healthy inside!). One piece dresses are my go to item as it is the most comfortable to wear. I love this one piece dress simply because it looks like a 2 piece skirt & tank instead. It’s been quite difficult to find separate (non maternity) bottoms/ skirts that fit me at this point, so I truly appreciate the unique design element on this dress!

Blazer: Rachel Zoe (similar)  | Top: Hye Park & Lune (Similar) | Jeans: Lovers & Friends| Shoes: Proenza Schouler| Bag: Moschino |BellaBand: Ingrid & Isabel |

Tuesday

I actually wore an outfit almost identical to this one many months ago before I got pregnant, the only difference is that I now have to wear a Bella Band! I luckily still fit into my pre pregnancy jeans, but they definitely do NOT zip up at this point, so this Band is a complete life saver. If you are expecting anytime soon I highly recommend in investing into a few, as they will allow you to wear your pre pregnancy clothes for an extra 3-4 months.

| Matching Suit: Lovers & Friends Blazer & Shorts (both on sale!)  | Tank: Express | Bag: Tiffany & Co.| Sandals: Balenciaga |Bellaband: Ingrid & Isabel (not shown)

Wednesday

I think one of the most slimming things you could wear during your pregnancy is a matching suit set (whether it be with shorts or trousers). Suits have a way of minimizing and slimming most body types. I wore this outfit to a meeting the other day, and people couldn’t believe I was 24 weeks pregnant at the time! This is also a non maternity outfit, but i’m only able to pull this look off because of the black bellaband (that you can’t see from the photos) i’m wearing underneath it all. Just like magic!

Vest: DKNY | Tank: Express | Shorts: Barneys | Shoes: Esquival | Bag: MCM

Thursday:

Wore this on a more casual day at the office. These shorts have a never ending elastic waistband, which is the only type of bottoms I could wear now. Paired it with an oversized boxy sleeveless vest to add some structure to the look along with a pop of red.

Coat: Aritzia| Dress: A Pea In The Pod  | Bag: MCM| Booties:  Sigerson Morrison

Friday

The weather in LA has been quite unpredictable as of lately. Gloomier & colder mornings has been giving me the urge to layer up in a coat, but by midday it’s an entirely different story. Regardless that didn’t stop me from wearing this beautiful trench coat and booties. If there was one necessity in my maternity wardrobe as of now , that would be this one piece black dress. It’s  one of those basics that all women truly need in their closet.. pregnant or not!

The question I ask myself every morning before I get dressed is, “Would I wear this even if I wasn’t pregnant?”, and if the answer is YES, then I call it a successful outfit. After I give birth I want to  look back on my outfits, and still be able to draw inspiration from my “Dressing The Bump” wardrobe. Lets face it…. whether you are pregnant or not putting together a cute outfit every morning doesn’t come naturally for most people, so you can only imagine how  difficult it can be with a growing belly & body. I not only started this series to document what I wear during my pregnancy, but also as a go to source of inspiration for all the growing & expecting mamas out there!

Just in case you missed it, make sure to check out Week 21 and Week 22! Which one was your favorite outfit for the week?
