Dressing the Bump // Week 21

As some of you guys have pointed out in the comments (and on my instagram), Where is the bump?? Actually, I didn’t start showing until my week 21! It’s personally been such a struggle finding clothes that fit, so I’ve decided to start creating Dressing the Bump style guides to make it easier for you guys. Look out every Monday because that’s when I’ll be releasing them!

MONDAY

These drawstring pants are perfect for my growing belly, as they have a generous amount of stretch around the waistband. I paired these subtle polka dots with a striped blouse and thick strappy heels for a business casual look. I’ve also been trying to wear more flats, but when I do wear heels I stick to ones that have a thicker heel such as these Cynthia Vincent ones.

TUESDAY

Flowy tops are your best friends when you’re pregnant. I paired this flowy white top with ankle cut skinny  jeans and my favorite silver brogues for the ultimate casual yet preppy look.  Although I fit into my regular jeans here (non maternity), I am not able to zip them up so I’ve been relying on my bella band to keep it all into place. I’m sure within the next week or 2 I will have to get myself a pair of maternity pants!

WEDNESDAY

I loved shift dresses before I was pregnant, but I love them even more now. Wearing one pieces without any seams is the way to go with a growing belly. Shift dresses are one of those pieces that are great to wear pre pregnancy, during your pregnancy, and post pregnancy! This season I’m pairing this deep green shift dress with my favorite Isabel Marant booties (from last season) and dainty stacked necklaces.

THURSDAY

Although oversized one pieces are possibly the most comfortable thing you could wear during your pregnancy, you also have to be cautious as they can make you look bigger if you don’t style it in the right way. Pull your oversized and flowing dress together by tying a denim jacket around your waist, this is a great belt alternative. And when all else fails just accessorize it with a hat and a pair of booties!

FRIDAY

This is probably my favorite look during this week. I love how this printed dress has an expandable seam right above the belly, giving my body a bit more shape. I usually prefer shift dresses (without seams), but because this one is super expandable, it’s incredibly comfortable. One of my favorite things to wear during the Fall is thigh high boots..it’s an instant way to make an outfit look incredibly sexy! I love how these pair from Steve Madden are incredibly comfortable with a thick heel. I also recently got a pair from Stuart Weitzman that are completely flat (without any heels)… a must have for a growing mama like me!

And there you have it, my five looks this past week. Don’t forget to pin this for future references in dressing your bump! I’m also starting a Dressing the Bump album on my Pinterest to make things easier for everyone! And for those of you that need a good laugh, make sure to watch my Gender Reveal video HERE, as a few unexpected things take place….

HAPPY MONDAY everyone!
