Dress the Bump // 22 weeks

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Kicking off this week with Week 22 of my Dress the Bump series! This  past week for some reason I went for a more muted and color palette. Isn’t it funny how you don’t notice what you gravitate toward until you see it altogether?

Monday

I got tricked by the weather earlier last week when the weather seemed to be getting cooler and I wore jeans and a turtleneck. I love the length of this turtleneck because it goes just over my belly and gives me a great silhouette. As my belly is getting bigger i’ve realized that my regular length shirts have been slowly riding up my belly, so this longer shirt length is quite ideal at this point. And guess what??? My first pair of Maternity jeans! Not going to lie, i’ve been trying to hold on to my regular (non maternity) jeans up until this point, but I finally gave in to  maternity jeans…and ummm why did I wait for so long??? These Pea In The Pod jeans are possibly the best invention for a growing belly!

I wore a similar styled dress last week, but an oversized dress is so perfect and comfortable for every day! Unlike most maxi dresses, I love that this striped maxi tapers in at the hem, giving it much more shape and definition. For some odd reason I LOVE pairing stripes with a pop of red,  it’s one of my go to pairings & combinations. I’ve also been wearing these Balenciaga sandals quite often as they have a tiny wedge heel, which gives me a bit of height, but comfortable enough to walk around in all day.

You might remember this dress from this post here! I love light knits for this Fall and the lace trim gives this dress an incredibly romantic feel. When dressing the bump I find that one of the most important ways to keep an outfit fresh and non maternity-esque is by accessorizing. I’m a bags & shoes type of gal, so I always try to keep an outfit unique with statement clutches and shoes. I absolutely love the pink/red lips on this clutch paired with my new favorite pointy ankle boots.

If you’ve seen my latest video, trousers are great for pregnancy…. I love these draw string trousers because they can be adjusted according to my growing belly. (Can you believe that these trousers are one size fits all?) I wore this outfit to a very important meeting I had with a client, and I wanted to look classic & professional.  There’s something so sophisticated about wearing wide leg trousers with a blazer… it’s one of those outfits that work for women of all sizes whether pregnant or not!

Friday

I love the cut and color of this dress. I initially bought this dress the other week to wear to a wedding after realizing that none of my (wedding appropriate) dresses fit! I’ve been on the search for one pieces that have unique cuts & silhouettes since they are the most comfortable thing to wear at this point.

And there you have it, my week 22 looks! I feel incredibly lucky that i’ve had an easy pregnancy up until this point, and I hope that it will continue to go smoothly for the next few weeks. I feel like compared to my friends I haven’t been experiencing nearly the same amount of discomfort they have! But the bigger I get, the heavier (& more tired) I feel! Are there any expecting mothers or mothers out there reading my blog? As I’m heading into my third trimester what can I expect? Share with me your experiences in the comments, I’d love to hear about your experiences!
