7 Tips to Dress Expensive

7 tips every girl should have in her back pocket.. (;

1. Tailor Your Trousers

I think there’s something very expensive looking about tailored trousers. I love pants that go right above the ankle so that they taper in. Fitted clothes are a lot more intentional and flattering! Unfortunately most trousers/pants come in generic sizes so although they might taper inwards a bit, they are not exactly customized to your size. The best money i’ve ever spent is on my tailor, who can take my $80 pants look like they are worth $800!

2. Iron Your Clothes

This may sound simple, but sometimes its the simplest things that we overlook. Imagine if my jumpsuit wasn’t ironed, what a difference it’ll look on me! Invest in a steamer or iron, and make sure you are crease-free! This also goes for men as well!

3. Wear a Turtleneck

There’s something so expensive and sophisticated about monochromatic turtlenecks. This piece is a great staple to have in your closet for this season for layering and staying warm. Its the perfect piece to pair with your trousers or pencil skirt to look professional in a work environment as well!

4. The LBD

If you have an event and don’t have a huge budget for an expensive dress, always go for a LBD! The little black dress is always sophisticated in any and every circumstance! I personally had this LBD for over 3 years now from H&M, and still til this day it’s my favorite as I got it tailored to my fit my body like a glove!

5. Wear a Trenchcoat

A trench coat is another wardrobe staple that everyone needs in their closet (both women & men), as it can elevate and bring sophistication to any look. Trenchcoats are great not only for work, but they can also be paired with more causal outfits. Also Fabrics like wool or felt feels a lot more expensive to me than say cotton or nylon. Opt for a different fabric this season when purchasing a new coat!

6. Pointy Heels & Structured Bags

When it comes to what type of heels and bags you should get, pointy heels and structured bags are not only the most classic but also the most sophisticated. Pointy pumps are timeless & professional, and they also streamline your look. There’s something about boxy purses that adds sophistication & structure to an outfit. With boxy purses you want to make sure you retain its shape so make sure to check out my recent post on How To Take Care of Your Purses.

7. Be mindful with your accessories

If you notice from following my instagram, I really love minimal & structured gold jewelry. Although sometimes I like to stack on my arm candy, I think it’s more sophisticated when you have  1 or maybe 2 structured pieces such as this one HERE & HERE.  Another accessory that will instantly make your outfit look expensive? Sporting a classic watch (again, for both men and women)!
