Remembering Home

Photography by Karen Chen

As I  mentioned before here,  I had the opportunity to travel up north to Napa Valley with my team and the hubs. Napa Valley is so beautiful and reminds me so much of home. Even though I go back often, I was still struck with nostalgia as we drove through the scenic fields. I found myself constantly saying to Allen, “Doesn’t this look like Danville?” “Danville looks like this!”

As much as I like the hustle and bustle of big cities, I love the feeling of small towns. I’ll never forget that I grew up in a town where horses were within walking distance and trees were big enough to hold a backyard swing. It’s so strange coming home now because I feel such an incredible sense of growth. Back then, I was the girl who grew up with nothing but her dreams of the big cities. Do you guys ever wish you could go back in time with the knowledge you have now to share with your past self? I would tell myself to embrace the tall awkward girl I used to be. But maybe I needed to be that unsure girl in order to search for who I was meant to be in fashion.

Without a doubt, fashion played a huge role in helping me become the woman than I am today. As I mentioned before here, the wrap dress embodies what every woman should be: confident, sexy and bold. It really is the perfect dress to commemorate the woman I became!
