Palais Du Louvre
Photography by Jana Williams
Out of my 14 days in Paris the one day that Jana and I decided to visit the Louvre it happened to be incredibly rainy and windy. Originally we wanted to play tourist and take a few photos in front of the louvre itself, but we ended up finding shelter next door. It was quite frustrating to get a good shot due to the weather ( it was so windy that our umbrellas ended up flying away!!), but on a positive note the wind actually made my pleated maxi skirt look quite dynamic. Wouldn’t you agree?
Anyways one of my favorite combos is pairing maxi skirts with booties for the ultimate juxtaposed casual glam look. I recently purchased these rockstud Valentino booties from Forward by Elyse Walker, and i’ve been pairing them with practically everything. Although I prefer to wear heels during fashion week, on my days off (especially when playing tourist) I’m usually running around in sneakers or flat boots. Truth be told I prefer to wear flats more than heels (when i’m not shooting), and that’s why I can never say no to a pair of statement flats! These rockstuds had me at hello.
Looking back at these photos I wish I smiled and laughed a bit more since the location was so incredibly gorgeous. But I believe that my expressions were true to how I felt at the moment…..FREEZING COLD! I usually despise rainy days, but there’s something about Paris that makes even the darkest of clouds tolerable and incredibly romantic.
