CHIC SHEET- Print on Print

Print on print can be one of the most difficult combinations to pull off. When putting together an outfit with multiple prints you walk a fine line between chic and disaster. Some may avoid it all together, but I think this trend is too good to pass on. So I wanted to share the ways I avoid a fashion mishap and combine my favorite prints together.

The three prints I love to mix and match are stripes, leopard and plaid. On their own these prints are my classic go to’s, but together they are a stylish mix! One major thing to remember when mixing these prints is to keep the other pieces in your outfit neutral and solid.

For the first mix I chose to mix a leopard clutch and plaid bottoms. You would want to wear a neutral top with a similar color from each of the prints. In this case it would be the color black. If you notice the spots on the clutch and the small checks on  both the left and right plaid bottoms have black as a coordinating color. This is the small detail that makes these patterns work together!

In my second example of print on print, I took plaid again and mixed it with stripes , two things that  almost everyone has in their wardrobe. Once again when mixing colors choose pieces that have matching colors. In this case, it’s white and black. But it’s a little more adventurous as they are layered directly on top of one another. These pieces are very casual but look chic because of the timeless prints we chose to combine.

Tell me which mix you will be trying out next in the comments below!

  • I like the second one with plaid and stripes but the first one I think the color of the clutch stand out more so, it would also look great with brown toned pants.
