The Secret Garden

posted by on 2013.07.08, under Outfit Of The Day, Outfits

As most of you know I grew up in the bay area, in a small town called Danville (about an hour away from San Francisco). Growing up, one can say I was quite introverted. In high school I was self conscious, and more often than not preferred to be alone in my room. My alone time was my chance to indulge into my hobbies- reading, designing, and blogging ( yes, I used to have a blog on Xanga that no one knew about back in the day!) Check out my DRAW MY LIFE video HERE for my full story.

I spent the weekend back in the bay with my family, and as the hubz & I were driving around we decided to take a random visit to my high school- Monte Vista . It’s been YEARS since i’ve seen the campus, and wanted to show both Allen & Mignon where it all began.  Coming back and being able to walk down these hallways filled with joy was quite nostalgic , as I used to feel lonely walking down the same path.

Anyways, spent the mass majority of my weekend in the backyard where I grew up. My mom has always had a huge passion for gardening.  She has planted  a good variety of flowers (our rose garden HERE) , fruits, & veggies in our backyard…we call it our Secret Garden.  Mama Lim was ecstatic to hear that I was going to do a blog post in our backyard, and even more so after I asked her to take these photos for me! It was her first time behind the camera, and I think  it’s safe to say that she discovered a new passion besides gardening.

Hope you all have a lovely day! HAPPY MONDAY loves!

Stumbled upon your youtube channel a few days ago and have completely loved your fashion style and taste! Please have more content about what to wear to work, especially in summer … it’s tricky. Also, I have very bad circulation and my office is pretty cold all the time as the guys always turn on air conditioner complaining it’s too hot (no, it’s not!), so I have to wear a cardigan to keep myself warm, but then again it makes me look so granny like. But it looks odd if I put my jacket on. If you could share some ideas about what to wear in the office, something smart casual but not as thick as a blazer/coat/jacket, that would be great. Give me a shout when you come to London and I’d love to show you around! X.

Such cute shorts! Maybe I’m partial to them because I live in Hawaii, but they are super cute and adorably chic in the way you styled your outfit!

The video is really touching. Why haven’t I seen it before?
I cannot comfort you by saying, “I understand how you felt about bulling,” because I was never really bullied. But I can say that I understand how you felt about your mom. I am not going to engage in details, but I have had my fair share of stressful-hospitalized-mom situations. I was always shy to comment on posts until recently. As blogger competition increased online, I started thinking that I should show support to those people who inspire me. So stay strong and 파이팅!

P.S.Interesting thing: when I read the title of this post, the first thing I thought of was a Korean drama, “Secret Garden”. (If you ask me that drama is nothing special, but an army of Hyun Bin fan girls would convince you otherwise. Unless you are one of them. If so, I should take cover and brace myself!!!) :P
