3 Is Better Than 1

I’m all for pieces that you can mix & match from day into night  and casual into glam! Although some of you may think that my closet is filled with endless amount of choices & pieces….it’s not! The truth is…i’ve just become a master at rotating & remixing pieces! So here’s my rule- it’s NOT ok to wear the same outfit 3 times in one week, but it’s A-okay to rotate that same skirt 3 times in one week in 3 different ways.

THE OFFICE LOOK

Dia De Los Muertos

posted by on 2011.10.29, under Fashion DIY, Fashion Tutorials

I was inspired by this editorial to create a tutorial on this look. It’s creepy yet hauntingly beautiful at the same time.

Day Of The Dead or “Dia de los muertos” Is a very popular Fiesta in Mexico and I absolutely love the fashion & costume for it. You can wear this flower headpiece out for Halloween but also for “Dia de los muertos” (which is also coming up).

Materials Needed- Black Lace Fabric, Faux flowers, Wire, & Scissors  (all materials bought from Michaels arts & Crafts store), Black maxi dress- MinkPink

For all you last minute people that are still clueless on what to wear for tonights festivities (you know who you are!) ..this is a great look you can create in less than 20-30 mins!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !

The Horizon

And my undying obsession with bows, stripes, and polka dots continues….especially when it’s by Kelly Wearstler. It’s obvious that her eye for interior design crosses over with her fashion line. I thought the horizontal stripes on this Horizon coat creates an interesting contrast against the vertical stripes. Lately I’ve been drawn to pieces with a classic silhouette (maybe it comes with age?) but with a unique & eye catching print!

Although I talked about my obsession with Penelope & Coco in my last post..I cant seem to deny that they are killin it one shoe at a time! Talk about taking dots to another level!

All Eyes On THE Shoes

posted by on 2011.10.26, under Outfit Of The Day

Sometimes Its best to keep it simple on top and have all eyes on the shoes. As you guys know i’m on my feet all day so i’m always on the look out for a pair of amazing flats! And It’s been a while since I’ve been real excited about a pair of flats until I laid my eyes on these Penelope & Cocos. How AHHHH-MAZING are these Penelope & Coco cut out studded flats?

Today i’m prepping for another shoot for GENLUX magazine, then dashing over to Michael Kors for a private viewing of their new collection, then jetting over to Palm Springs late tonight to get ready for our early morning AM shoot! Its another one of those whirlwind weeks where I wish I had atleast 5 people to fill in my shoes. Whether its finding someone to fill in my shoes or having all eyes on my shoes… as you can see my life revolves around shoes…

Hope you all have a lovely day!

From hot to cold to rainy to sunny….with the weather being so unexpected these days i’ve been using my little faux fur vest to keep me warm & fuzzy! I also thrifted this amazing suede belt with gold hardware this weekend for $10! There’s something so victorious on finding a gem in a vintage store.

Not sure if its because of the change in season but I found myself cleaning out my closet & drawers the other day. I found tons of  old & worn pieces which inspired me to create this tutorial.

Before you throw out your old pieces..watch this video and see if you can make any of your old pieces brand new again!

Materials Needed-
Sweater- Forever21
Pearls- Random Boutique & some from Forever 21
The thread, needle, sewing kit, scissors, pencil, & ruler all came in a package from Target!

Let me know if you guys want to see more DIY videos and if so what would you like to see me take from Trash Into Treasures?

Uniform

posted by on 2011.10.19, under Outfit Of The Day

All black & flats is the name of the game when i’m on set styling shoots or working with a client. 1. its professional 2. it allows the subject/talent to pop & be the focus! I generally like to add pops of print and color such as this Elizabeth & James silk blouse I layered underneath my blazer, and of course my leopard print loafers! I also carry this little crossbody purse to keep all my styling necessities such as safety pins, needle&thread, clips, etc

This is my working uniform…what is yours?

Those Moments

posted by on 2011.10.18, under Outfit Of The Day

As I always say every woman should own at least one thing leopard in their closet! I guess you can say that I have  applied this rule into my home as well. The moment I laid my eyes on this leopard print bench i knew i had to have it….it was one of Those Moments.

Another current obsession of mine is this burnt red / burgundy color! The other day I walked out of H&M with 3 items and they were all in this burnt hue! As you guys know by now if im obsessed with something I will wear it out until it’s no longer wearable! Such as these House Of Harlow Sunglasses, earrings, jewelry, and these nude ankle Jimmy Choo booties that I have worn in practically every OOTD!

Hope you have a lovely  & positively filled day!

The Unexpected

posted by on 2011.10.17, under Outfit Of The Day

And a heartwarming weekend it was. Spent the weekend at The Langham in Pasadena for a friend’s wedding frolicking on the terrace overlooking the lush green garden. After a weekend filled with tears, love, laughter, & joy…I simply cannot wait for our big day in May! I cant help but be a sucker for love!!

Bought this Alexander Wang dress last year and the unexpected tuxedo tail is what did it for me! I’m always looking for  things i’ve never seen before …always on the search for The Unexpected.

Starting my day with a frothy latte before heading out to my editorial meeting with GENLUX magazine. Also I recently have been asked by the Beautylish team to speak at their Beauty Social event this Saturday in santa Monica! It’s always exciting to meet my viewers & readers so HERE is the info for this weekend…would love to meet you there!

HAPPY MONDAY!
