Cut Em Babies Off

Heres a little preview to our shoot we did last month with Prestige magazine! I was lucky enough to get my hands on the dress that Blake Lively wore on Gossip Girl by Zuhair Murad! I cant wait to show you guys the full editorial once it is released! Keep posted!

btw one of my favorite looks is Cut Off sheer tights. I love how they come out  versus thick knee high socks. Just get your Nylons and Cut Em Babies Off right above your knees to achieve this bad girl look!

Closet Confidential: RUFFLES

With all of those ruffles on Lanvin, Nina Ricci, Valentino, and Marchesa runway..I am in Ruffle haven. This look was completely inspired by the ruffles in my bathroom shower curtains (yes, I get my inspiration from the strangest places.) As much as I love this dont want to look too frilly and girly, so here is my secret OPPOSITES ATTRACT…Really! When choosing a frilly/girly/dressy top balance it out with a pair of casual bad boy leather leggings and booties. When you dress yourself you always want too look balanced…you never want to look  too over the top girly or beyond boho homeless or  a plucked chicken dressed up  in layers & layers of fur. It’s all about BALANCE!!! Rule of thumb:  Casual top- pair it with dressy bottoms. Dressy top- pair it with casual bottoms…..OPPOSITES ATTRACT. ALWAYS!

Look at Olivia Palermo dressed in marchesa Spring 2011 Ruffles~ but see how she balanced out this over the top friliness with a pair of casual bad boy booties instead of your typical stilettos?

A Girl’s Gotta Pay Her Bills!

SO i’m here to tell you it’s A-OKAY to repeat the same shoes, accessories and purses. INVEST into basic shoes and purses that you know you can wear all the time! Just because I am a stylist does not mean i swim in a pool of designer wear all the time….girlllll, i gotta pay bills just like you do!

My Mulberry purse and prada over the knee riding boots are two things I live by. I probably carry this purse around everyday and wear these flat boots everyday. As much as I want to be wearing my 6 in. YSL heels everyday…honey, as a stylist you will not survive being in heels all day ( and trust me i am a PROFESSIONAL when it comes to walking in sky high heels :P )

SO THIS FALL/WINTER: make sure you have a pair of flat over the knee high riding boots and an amazingly sassy purse that will keep you looking amazing this winter! 4 looks, same accessories- a Girls Gotta Pay Her Bills!

p.s most of my looks are mix and match of Elizabeth and James blouses, H&M dresses and skirts, Bebe accessories, and topshop. Mixing highs and lows are the best. Dont be an obnoxious snob and try to faunt all designer gear when you cant afford it…being broke is no fun!!
